Firstly, this hotel is located directly on the main highway hub which gives you quick access to all burroughs of Quebec City. If you are in town as a tourist and expect to spend your time in the old city you might consider something more within walking distance. I've stayed here twice. O.k., have had worse and better experiences in hotel. Room 1109 needs to have new bed. Any movement created a very disturbing squeak which kept waking us up. Also, very difficult to find an outlet for the coffee maker. All of the outlets (and there were not many) were either hidden behind the dresser or bed or underneath the desk.

What could have been a nice hotel in the 60s is wanting for a major overhaul. The carpet covered floors were threadbare, pulling away from the walls creating ridges and, a little sticky. The beds were rock hard which may be good for some but the squeaking of the springs was too much, I thought they put the box spring on top. Old hotel with small rooms and tiny bathroom and a separate sink area. Considering the size of the hotel the swimming pool was a kiddie pool at best! Service was not bad but not the best value overall.

We stayed at the hotel for one night only. The only negative comment that we have is that we asked for a "wake-up" call for 6:00 a.m. on the Friday, which service was not provided. Otherwise, the staff members are very polite and provide a good service. Huguette and Ralph

Our room was clean and the staff was somewhat friendly, however... This Hotel was probably built about 1960 and has not been updated. Everything looks original 1960. Very dated. The front entrance way was very modern and up to date, but the hallways once you got on other floors need renovating and brightening up. Very dark in the hallways. The staff was very friendly and always polite. The room was clean and the beds were always made when we came back in the room in the evening. The swimming pool was inviting and nice to swim in. There were elevators for people having trouble getting up the stairs. A very nice stay.

The double room was adequate but found the bathroom quite small. Otherwise everything else was just great. Would recommend this hotel anytime.

We stayed in what appeared to be an older part of the hotel that needs serious renovation. Everything was clean, but halls and rooms were dark and musty. It was very easy to get to the tourist sites by car from here and to find local places. Very close to a nice mall that is much more than it appears on the outside.

The hotel is old, tired, and poorly run. We used this hotel a year ago and found it much better. On that trip, we booked in person, not online. One is greeted with ripe and overflowing garbage cans at the front door. The beds were uncomfortable, the chair in the room was both ripped and broken, and the air-conditioning dripped on the clothes in the […] hanging cupboard. Overall the room had a funky smell; old cigarettes and/or rising damp. Only one of the six ice machines I could find worked. The elevators are slow. Good hotel, friendly staff. Its a solid 3star establishment. Nothing that will impress you, yet nothing that will shock you. Good for business trips. Free parking on site and proximity to highways are convenient.

As soon as we walked in the room, a strange smell in the room but it seemed to come and go so I didnt say anything. There was a toenail in the bathroom....but the worst part of my stay was that I hardly slept all night both days. Partes in the hallway, people screaming, laughing....etc. I called both night to complain but nothing changed. Our hotel stay for two nights is comfortable. Description by hotels.com, states that all units features a refrigerator and a microwave, but it is not true. My request for 2 adjoining rooms and pull out beds were delivered but only one room has the refrigerator but without a microwave, but this did not spoil our stay....the room was not replenish with […] toilet paper almost ran out of and definitely ran out of facial tissue..I guess, this was compromised with the price that we pay for the accommodation..thanks anway. We had a nice stay at the Clarion. The city was easy to reach from Ste Foy. The rooms were comfortable. Friendly service at the reception desk.

The Clarion Hotel is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The service was terrible, and the first room they gave us had not yet been cleaned there was a trash bag in the middle of the room and the bathroom was filthy. The whole experience was unpleasent. To start they couldn't find my reservation, I had to switch rooms 3 times beacause every […] room they gave me had a problem. On their website it cleary states that there is a fitness center I can let everyone know that theit fitness center includes to treadmills and a few dumbells. To me that is not a fitness center. They have a sauna but the employee did not know how it worked. I will end this review with a suggestion if you are planning to stay in the Quebec area try any other hotel and I'm sure it will be a better experience than the Clarion. We've been in Quebec for 2 days, 2 adults, 2 kids. The location is good for those who has a car(just at the edge of the city). Really bad maintenace, old and small rooms, wallpaper gets off from the walls. The breakfast is barely satisfying, and a little bit variety would not hurt also. In short, I'm not getting back to this hotel next time.

I cannot say anything negative about this hotel. In fact, after staying here I went to Charlevoix and it was hard to enjoy my hotel there after how modern, clean and spacious the room at the Clarion Hotel had been. Most hotels I have ever stayed in while in Quebec have that "faux new" look where they've just painted over old fixtures for an updated […] look. The executive rooms are new, no doubt.
