Our recent stay at Casa Munras was a very pleasant one. The grounds are very nice. The front desk person told me it "really isn't a hotel, it is more like a motel." Rooms are extremely dated. The rooms have a very moldy oder.

I thought the property and common areas were great. The room, however, had some issues. Old TV with two remotes that I could not figure out. Spilled wine (just a little) on both the leather chairs in the room. The room was pretty loud to outside noise, but it did not bother me at night- everyone seemed to be early to bed. Had to air out the room a few times during may stay due to a musty odor from poor airflow.

I was absolutely delighted and surprised to find the hotel was within a 20-30 minute walk to the Monterey wharf and Cannery Row. The staff and service were excellent; however, I was disappointed with the plumbing in my room: low shower pressure and noise when shower is first turned on.

Not a lot of frills for the price, but the location is quiet and the set up is classically Monterey.

low flow shower head is my only complaint. Comfortable stay, Great front desk service. So close to Alvarado Street with restaurants and bars. 10-15 min walk to Fisherman's wharf. Short drive to Cannery row/Aquarium. Travelodge, Chevron, and Denny's across the street.

The grounds were beautiful; Nicholas at the front desk was very accommodating and informative; the room was clean and comfortable. Quite a nice surprise!

It is a nice older hotel. The front desk staff and room staff were very good. The service in the hotels restaurant leaves a lot to be desired, especially at their happy hour. The food was OK but nothing to rave about.There was a very nice gutarist playing in the lobby when we arrived which gave it a nice ambiance. My husband and I had a upstairs King bed with a fireplace in the rm. The bed was so comfortable,iota of pillows. plus there was a little fridge in the rm. That was a big plus for us since we bring our own drinks. Only 7 mins from Cannery Row. Breakfast was really good but the service was a little slow. Only 1 cook made it hard for him to keep up. The staff were extremely kind, helpful, and patient. They gave us tips on what to do with our super-active kids, and how to get the best out of our family trip to Monterey. Responsive and proactive. Looked out for us. Very well-maintained hotel. Older infrastructure but obviously well-taken care of and remodeled. Highly recommend. Thank you!

Lovely size room, no issues with soundproofing. Check in was great (especially Mary whose restaurant recommendation was great and general helpfulness was fab), good value for money. Didn't use the pool as it was a chilly, windy day but it looked lovely.

It was within easy walking distance of most attractions and in a quiet area. Beware late sleepers that the hotel breakfast stops at 10 am, but there is a Denny's across the road.

Room was great - clean, spacious enough for 2 kids to be kids without being underfoot, easily accessed from parking and quiet. The pool was warm, the location convenient. The are a gorgeous variety of roses on site that were all in bloom during our stay. My only complaint were that there wasn't good signage at the entrance. We had a great stay at Casa Munras. The staff was professional and friendly and made our stay a comfortable one. We re-booked twice. It was hard to leave.

This was our second time staying here. Needless to say, we were back because the place is clean, comfortable and reasonably priced. We are pretty picky about places to stay. We enjoy staying here for the reasons stated. We do have to say that we prefer staying in the main building, because of the modern decor of the rooms and the huge bathrooms with […] the big, soaking tubs and large showers.. The exterior buildings have rooms that have more of a cottage decor, but they are clean and comfortable. Casa Munras is a large property and hard to miss driving through town. The front desk staff were very polite and informative. The room was very cute and clean. We had a king bed and fireplace on the second floor with lounge chair and table on a private side of the floor outside. Widows opened to overlook the heated pool area. The property was clean […] and had staff everywhere in case any questions came up. The location of this hotel can't be beat. Walking distance to good restaurants, waterfront, etc. best part is the community fire pit. Rooms are pretty average. No fans or air conditioning. Super comfy beds though, wifi, etc. Kinda smaller beds in the doubles if you are sharing. Nice gardens and overall stay.

Stayed at Casa Munras for a race in the area. Was delighted with the front desk customer service. I was also impressed by their fitness room. Their fitness room was clean, cardio machines had personal tvs, dumbbell set, cable exercise machine, water tank, gym towels, yoga mats and apples. Stayed in a cozy queen and it was cozy. Would definitely book […] again and try an upgraded room. Parking can be tight so you'll have trouble parking your big trucks and plan to arrive early so you dont have to hunt for a parking spot. This was a nice place to stay, the staff were very helpful, and I would stay here again. The bathrooms and carpet seemed out-dated though, especially for the price that we were paying. I thought it would be a lot nicer aesthetically - it's hard to tell from the pictures on the website.

This was the most disappointing hotel we've stayed in. The room was unclean - the carpets grubby and bathroom floor tiles dirty. The whole room was in real need of a renovation. Very disappointed - I would have been embarrassed to let out a room in this condition. When we complained, we were offered an identical room, in the same poor condition. Wonderful hotel....the spa however is run by a different entity and was not available to us. But had we a great little "bungalow" just by the pool. It was the BEST!
