Somerset Hills Hotel - Warren

Very nice hotel, conveniently located. Sketchy service at restaurant. I forgot several items in my room and called the hotel from the airport. They responded quickly and efficiently, locating what I had left behind and forwarding it via Fedex. Overall, a pleasant experience.

The rooms beside us were very loud until about 3 am. Other than that our experience was wonderful!

Hotel was nice, pretty clean, tub did not drain well! But over all a pleasent stay. Unfortunaly we stayed when they had a wedding party staying there and at 1:30 am they set off fireworks that ruined a good nights sleep, on top of that we had a young man knocking on our door at 5:00 am looking for his friend, that was a bit shady

Our stay was great. The rooms were quiet. There was a lively bar on the first floor. My only recommendation would be that they install vents in the bathrooms to draw out humidity after a shower.

Great hotel. Only issue was failure to receive wake-up call on second day there. However, alarm clock worked well.

We had the worst stay! It started when we got to the front desk. The front desk clerk was not very friendly and he mumbled - we couldn't even understand what he was saying. I had reminded him that I had reserved a room with a king size bed but didn't get a response from the clerk. Well, needless to say when we entered our room there was 2 twin beds. […] When I called to switch they said they didn't have any available. Also, our room was right above their lounge - a band played until midnight and we got no sleep. Then a bunch of people came on our floor and was loud and banging doors until 4:00 AM. Third time I've stayed here in two years. This is my go to when I'm in the area because it's convenient to some nearby business. It's getting a little dated, but not in dire need of an upgrade.

The hotel was clean, service was good, and has character but it needs to be updated. The bathroom is old and so is heating unit. The food was ok at best. I did expect it to be better. So i would give it more stars if it wasn't for the food and room.

The hotel is fine - not great but good. The rooms are tired - the drain my shower was clogged and the bed linens were faded. However - the room was clean, the staff was very professional and attentive and cost was the lowest of the hotels in the area.

I love the Hotel, and for the most part it is very clean. Although in the bathroom of 238 the vanity has water damage and it has mold on it. The privacy curtain was taken down (Maybe to clean) but never put back on the sliding glass door. I also noticed at the ice machine, the garbage can has not been empted in 3 weeks. Out the back of the hotel, you […] see broken chairs, garbage cans, light bulbs, potted plants, broken tables thrown in the woods I go every weekend for Business. The room was clean and comfortable and the bar (closed one evening) was quite nice. There are a couple of reasonable restaurants and a good bagel place just across the road. One warning if you don't have a car: the hotel shuttle bus wasn't running when I was there, and the taxi options in suburban New Jersey seem very limited. This is really an excellent hotel and difficult to imagine better value for your money. The staff was accomodating; we were able to check in about 2 hours early. The hotel is in an extremely pleasant suburban/rural location, about an hour from N.Y., with plenty of open grassy space for walking our dog.

Overall the Somerset Hills was OK. It has a nice bar and a decent restaurant. Mostly business travelers, so quiet. The BIG issue for me was the out of control heater. First day the room was 83F, opened the window, turned the thermostat off and all the way down. Heater still made an irritating humming sound. Ear plugs helped. Second day room was at 85F, […] and I finally figured out not only did you have to control the wall thermostat but the heater dials on the heater in the window. I am struck by the general lack of a performance standard that would reflect in fixing or addressing numerous annoyances and broken or run down equipment or decor. I wonder if they are reaching the point where it would take too much investment to recover the not so hidden charm that lies just beneath.

The maintenance is behind and it shows on a lot of little things. Although the hotel seems full, it has the appearance as if someone is not keeping up with the needed repairs.

Have stayed here multiple times over the last 6 years and the facility needs some refreshing -- particularly in the bathroom, where the side of the sink cabinet appears to have suffered water damage & the lower side was delaminated.

1230am called front desk (3x before pickup) to complain about people running, singing slamming doors, was told large party just checked in they are just settling in. 130am called again for same reason, told abruptly and rudely (as if i was the nuisance) that he would come up. It is a very nice hotel and a good restaurant . Tough time considering the Hurricane sandy , but all the staff handling it admirably !

Hotel staff bent over backwards to be attentive. The hotel has a great deal of potential. They should rethink their policy of allowing pets in rooms. It's tough to clean-up if one or several have an accident. If it hadn't had those symptoms; it would have been absolutely top flight.

I stayed overnight at this hotel to attend a local event. The area was very convenient, the pricing was good value for money, the room was very comfortable and the staff was friendly. It is an older property, but I was very satisfied with the cleanliness and upkeep of the room. I would stay here again when in the area.

For the price (Expedia discounted) what you get is more average than special. Room was clean and comfortable, but not completely quiet, and elevator was out--necessitating carrying luggage up two flights to third floor. Overpriced for what you get. Hotel is a bit old and needs an upgrade. Hotel Indigo, it's sister hotel, is much nicer and offers a complimentary breakfast package. We stayed at Indigo during Irene, but it was full during Halloween storm.
