This is a high quality boutique hotel, located a short walk to the old city and other sites of interest. The lobby staff were pleasant, courteous and very helpful. The rooms are small but very comfortable. The bathroom had a full size tub with shower and the fixtures were high quality. This being our first trip to Zurich (and Switzerland, for that matter), we had no idea which area of the city would be best or what to expect. This hotel is in the "industrial" part of the city -- but don't let this description fool you! It was a five minute walk to the main train station, from which all of our scheduled tours left, a five minute walk […] to the old city, and a block off of the river. From this location, we were able to walk everywhere (though the city has an incredibly efficient and affordable public transportation system), easily get meals from take-out to sit-down, and shop for anything/everything. The hotel itself was very clean and well-kept, and the staff was incredibly helpful...even with our numerous questions and requests. A very friendly comfortable hotel. Beds are so comfy and free Wi-Fi good to have. Everything included in the price was wonderful. Cost of drinks and breakfast were extortionate in our view but not sure whether that was this hotel in particular or is common to Swiss hotels.

This hotel was very nice, very clean and comfortable. The room was a very nice size and a little more luxurious than a lot of the hotels I have stayed in in Zurich (chopard shower products was a plus).. It is a couple of blocks from the train station and the main city street.I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The ordinary exterior of the hotel and the dull and busy road it is located in belie the charming and comfortable interior. The staff are excellent, it is in fact quiet and the location near the station is very convenient.

Lovely Hotel, friendly staff and great location, just 5 mins walk to the main station and centre. No need to take taxis as train connections and tram connections excellent.

I thought it was a dreadful hotel. It is the first time that (in Switzerland, the cleanest country I have ever been to) that I saw a dirty hotel. The hotel was very nice, the lobby doesn't match the decor of the rooms. The rooms are very modern and chic with a comfortable bed and wonderful toiletries. The only issue we had was with getting directions using the transit system from the concierge. They seemed somewhat unwilling to explain to us even when asked direct questions. We asked about taking […] the train up the mountain which we had read about online and instead of giving us the options they tried to insist we book a tour and handed us pamphlets. Great hotel close to the city centre. Buffet breakfast is extensive, room was comfortable though bathroom was a bit small. Staff are excellent. Room price also quite affordable compared to general pricing in Zurich.

Six of us stayed here for one night for a weekend break to celebrate my 50th. We arrived at the hotel just after 10am after an early morning flight. As it was early we had planned on leaving the luggage and then wandering around Zurich as check in wasnt till 2pm. The hotel is located nearby the main train station. The surrounding is quiet. A few restaurants just next to hotel. The room is clean and very comfortable. One disadvantage is that not much scenery when you look out of the hotel.

Dissapointed with facade of the hotel. Better directions from the railway station would be appreciated. ie. Outside station go to Tram No 11 or tram No 14 . Travelling in the direction of Stampfenbachplatz. Get off Tram No 11 or 14 at Stop Stampfenbachplatz. You will see the Hotel Contental about 200 metres from stop on Right Hand Side.

Extremely overpriced. Hotel had no bellman when we arrived so our luggage sat outside on the curb of a major road until we moved it ourselves. Room had one electrical outlet located behind a nightstand making it almost impossible to use.
