Clarion Hotel - Bristol

ALL staff is very polite and helpfull. They will go out of there way to assist you with any of your needs. I would recomend the Clarion to everyone. On the down side they have renovations going on and restaurant is closed and the front desk is a short distance to the elevators. Stop in and say "HI" the staff will greet you with a smile. I had a very nice time. The only problem was that it is going under major renovations. So getting to the room with luggage was a small inconvience. Over all it was clean and comfortable. I will be back in the area next weekend and would like to stay again for 2 nights but it is a little high to just sleep there.

Major, major renovations so it's a dump with minimal services - Motel 6 at best. Not their fault & when it's done it will be great, particularly if you have business with ESPN. But it won't be ready until July 2013. Until then... I think there is a Residence Inn about a mile away.

When we made this reservation there was no mention of the fact that this Choice hotel was being changed over to a Doubletree. When we arrived there after dark, there where high construction fences all around the hotel entances so we thought the hotel was closed. If not for a small entrance sign we would have driven away. The check in was fine. But we […] had to follow construction tape on the floor through the restaurant bar and lobby to get to the elevators. The room was clean and comfortable. The beds were spacious. There was no free breakfast as usual in Choice Hotels. The construction crews started up very noisy work at 8 AM while we wanted to sleep until 10. My husband and I stayed at the Clarion in Bristol, CT during a recent power outage from a major snow storm that hit CT. When I looked up hotels on my cell phone, I somehow got connected to hotels.com. The person I spoke to was very helpful and was aware of the power outages in CT and the desperate need of many in search of a hotel. We were fortunate […] to get a couple nights booked at the Clarion. The hotel was booked due to the storm and although they were probably not prepared to be totally booked, we felt all the employees did a superb job. The first night we were there we ate at the hotel. It was clear that everyone else was doing the same thing since there were very few places that were open. There were only 2 employees servicing the bar area and the restaurant area. The employees were Michelle and Tiana. They were working so hard to take orders, make drinks, and do room service. There were more people than they can handle, but they were the only two that were on staff for that night. Again, due to the unexpected booked hotel, and many people in the hotel eating in the restaraunt and probably others that were just stopping in for a bite to eat, they did a GREAT job! At the front desk Tina, Tracy, and Kathleen (and one gentleman I forget his name) who were working extremely hard. They were handling the constant phone calls and the constant flow of people who were walking in looking for a place to stay as well as taking care of their guests who were already booked there. Under the execpected circumstances, all the employees who worked during the first week of November deserve special recognition for their hard work! They did a great job! The motel was nice. Interior of the room was updated and the staff was very accommodating when there was a mix up on the number of beds requested. There was some damage to the bathroom door from what looked like a dog had scratched to get out and the motel is in an industrial park. All in all I'd say the price is a little steep for the area.

This hotel wall a perfect fit for my family and I on our visit to a local theme park. Comfortable, clean and located just outside the destination. The restaurant provided a delicious meal and the pool was clean with the water at just the right temperature to be refreshing after a long day in the sun. The hotel has just gone through some refits and we […] enjoyed a wounderful nights sleep on a perfectly cloud like new matress. The shower head was positioned under 5 feet from the floor making it difficult to get a good wash. Nice room, clean and no musty odors. Shower was not designed for a 6 footer like myself, the head was just about level with the base of my neck. Rather suprising, considering its proximity to ESPN Headquarters. Pool and sauna were not in service, rather dissapointing (especially the sauna, very nice to use after a stressfull day), and the resturaunt […] dining room is not open during the week, meals are still available, but served in the lounge. Hotel is a little old and rundown. Seemed clean and overall experience was fine. I would recommend as the room seemed clean.

Nice breakfast; but not included when booked through hotels.com. Fitness room was dank and very old.

Good value, convenient for business trip. The restaurant was being redone, but temp set up in bar was satisfactory.

The heater in our room kept us up the first night rattling and banging and then the front of the heater actually came off. One of the elevators was out of service the entire time - causing me to be concerned with the "health" of the remaining one - I took the stairs. Everything about the Clarion was great except that being from out of state, we would have liked a place to unwind, especially on a weekend. The bar/lounge was only opened special hours. Otherwise, the hotel was great, location wise to where we were going.

If you need a hotel in this location the Clarion is just OK, ok value, ok rooms. nice surrounding area. Just down the street from ESPN Headquarters. OK value.

Bathroom floor linoleum needed to be replaced, broken leg on wooden luggage stand, majro gouges and scratches in furniture, lobby smelled of cigarette smoke. We stayed here for the location, which was fine, and the staff were generally pleasant, but the facility was awful.

Clean, pleasant, friendly, a good experience

The Hotel needed some work. When we got in the room the phone on desk and lamp didn't work. The manager after hearing us try to call the front desk came up to see what was going on. He did get a new lamp but phone didn't work. We did have another phone next to our bed that did work. For the price we paid they should have included a free breakfast. The Air Conditioner Vents on the Control Panel were full of dust an mildew. Looks like it had never been cleaned and the shower curtain and shower had mildew. They exchanged the shower curtain and cleaned the shower mildew after I mentioned it to the front desk, but they never cleaned the air conditioner. We stayed 4 nights.
