Crowne Plaza Cromwell - Cromwell

I'm sure this plce was top-notch in 1991. Now it's just out-dated and musty.

The room was super clean and very nice. The only thing we didn't have that was listed was the refrigerator and microwave so I'm glad we didn't plan on it. Other than that our stay was pleasant and our check-in was quick and easy.

Second time I have stayed there--I love the ease and location and the staff are always awesome!

On my first night, I was assigned a room on the first floor with a glass door to the parking lot. When the trucks started going by at 5:45AM only 20 feet from my bed, I knew I couldn't stay there another night. Though the hotel was full due to refugees from the state-wide electric outages, the manager found my a very nice, quiet room on the 4th floor. […] The top floor is the club level and has bigger bathrooms and a continental breakfast in the lounge but only on weekdays. The power cuts and bad weather had a negative effect on this hotel - I guess it was short on staff. The place could have been a very acceptable hotelunder any other circumstances. The rooms were assigned to guests late adn after hours of waiting, the hotel was crowded and there was not hot water in the morning, the corridors were noisy with kids running […] up and down, the bar was packed (people waiting for their rooms) and we ended up drinking 3 pints before being served dinner...I guess that was a positive effect after all. Hotels.com displayed room is for 3 (2 beds) and breakfast buffet included and we thought breakfast for 3. But hotel/property policy was for 2. A heartless manager declined to give breakfast coupon to my 6 years old kid though he said "Daddy no breakfast for me?" He said it is hotels.com's problem and I have to call them and take up the matter with them. […] Oh Lord, a $10 breakfast and manager has no authority to override this? I have a business with 53 people and I know what customer service is and this gentleman was doing his job but in a unprofessional way, maybe he forgot he was in hospitality business and sometime overriding $10 may bring in more business. Thanks to hotels.com CS who resolved this issues by calling the property. Front desk rep at night was able to resolve with hotels.com but a day time manager declined. This is a great place to take your family, or to have a corporate meeting. The pool area is outstanding, and if you request it early enough, you can get a late check out. We were stuck indoors because of a "Hurricane Warning", but we made the most of the Hotel Experience. Breakfast Buffet was delicious, bacon, eggs, sausage, and several breads and […] pastries. I've stayed in a lot of hotels over the past few years and this was by far the best. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was very clean and in a convenient location. I travel to the area 3 to 4 times a year and will definitely be staying here again!

Great Location, plenty of food service nearby. Hotel was clean and comfy but needs work to wall papers and carpets. Just a little refurb. Very nice indoor pool in the middle with a small hot tub... Overall B+

The Pool area was great! It was a nice clean area...and the pool was also clean. The hot tub was hot and spacious. The workout facility had some great equipment to use. The hours of the gym and pool area were very convenient. 5:30 AM - 11:00 PM. The rooms were nice. The King size beds were very comfortable. Ate at the restaurant.....food was good […] and the menu had some great choices.....we only had breakfast there. The showers were very hot. My only complaint would be small bathrooms. Đọc thêm

I spent 3 nights there from Friday through Monday, and there were kids in the room above mine who got back to their room around 1 am and they were singing and partying. It took the staff a while to get there. Other times there were kids running down the hall. The indoor swimming area only amplified the sounds of kids jumping into the pool after midnight […] and then screaming as they ran out. My room was also near a staff lounge or staging area, and they seemed to be going in and out all hours of the night, and slamming the doors. The room also had a noisy in room heat/ac unit-- like those found in motels, not a three star hotel. I quickly figured out why there was a pack on ear plugs on bed when I arrived. My recent stay at the Cowne Plaza Cromwell was great. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. A lot of things to do and see nearby. Would definitely stay there again.

The room was nice and very clean. The indoor pool area under the dome was great. It was 80 degrees in there when it was 35 outside. Close to some good diner food and the hwy.

After readining other reviews, I thought this Crowne Plaza would be just as good if not better than others with which i have become accustomed to staying at. I was incorrect in this assumption. If you think this hotel was "nice" you must usually frequest a Motel 6 or other overnight venues of this type. Not worth what I paid to stay here. However, […] the staff was nice and the facility was geographically well-suited, although the actual location was similar to staying at a roadside Travelodge (with a gigantic reception hall in front--another wierd quirk of this place). Fine for families because of the pool and probably good for a few nights of business nearby, but I would never stay here as an an "improptu romantic night out reservation" ever again. Đọc thêm

The hotel was fully booked at arrival. My room had a noisy air conditioner that rattled all night. An engineering technician came promptly and tried without success to fix it. I asked for another room, not none were available. My room was on the top floor, and the rain on the metal roof was LOUD. The walls were thin, and I could hear the TV in the nexyt […] room, although the guests were considerate later at night. Most of the hotel's parking was in the back, but there was no rear entrance--so it was a long hall in the rain to tow my luggage to the front entrance. There were too few elevators. Even though the hotel was fully booked, there was one overburdened staff person at the front desk doing her best to check in lots of people while juggling multiple phone lines. The small restaurant was overwhelmed at breakfast, and I was seated at a table with dirty dishes. I got no service and left after 10 minutes. No video checkout service. Đọc thêm

The only thing I have to say about this hotel is that the bathroom was too small. But everything else was nice. Would stay again.

We were extremely pleased with everything during our current stay. The room was well appointed, the Hotel staff was absolutely wonderful, the food was delicious, the bartender outstanding, and the lobby was inviting and comfortable.

Great indoor pool and Jacuzzi which is a nice touch when it's cold outside. They have now installed a huge TV screen in the pool area where you can watch movies while lounging in the hot tub. We stayed here before with our small dog. It's rare to find a nice hotel who allow dogs. Also the beds are comfortable.

I paid for a non-refundable King-size room, but when I entered the room, I found a double size bed instead. I went downstairs to inquire, and was told that King was sold out, so I was given a double rather than no room at all. I pointed out that I had pre-paid ahead of time, but the answer was the same; that they actually did me a favor. I'm a bit disappointed […] all around, but at least it was a nice Hotel... Đọc thêm

A very comfy room and a great indoor pool. The concierge floor was nice for convenient breakfasts and afternoon snacks. It's located close enough to Wesleyan U for convenient visits to see my son. The hotel also takes pets. My dog Stewart was most satisfied.

The pool is large and heated and the area surrounding it is beautiful. Service and accomodations were very satisfying.

This hotel is good, family friendly and has all that you need within it. It's location is good, because you can get to major highways very easly.

The pool is to die for and the room was exceptionally clean. The food was absolutely delicious and the service exceptional.

No coffee or continental breakfast in lobby, although coffee pot in bathroom. Very disappointed when I went down into lobby for a cup of coffee and there was only a machine you had to pay for.

I was looking forward to working out in the fitness room. There was no air conditioning the first day, though there was a fan. Only one of the treadmills was working. The second day, the fan was gone and still no air conditioning. None of the treadmills worked. The TV remote for the fitness room was no where to be found. It was a disappointment. Hotellet är ganska fint och definitivt värt tre stjärnor men inte mer! Inredning, renlighet, bekvämlighet och personalens bemötande kan man inte anmärka på däremot så verkade det finnas problem som har att göra med själva byggnaden och underhåll av installationer. Vi hade stora problem med det första rummet som vi hade fått eftersom vi inte hade något […] kallt vatten. Det kom bara het vatten ur båda kranar och duschen. Efter att vi hade ringt till receptionen så fick vi snabbt hjälp med problemmet men nästa dag... samma sak... och dagen efter...igen samma problem. Dag fyra fick vi ett annat rum (och kompensation i form av gratis frukost på avresemorgonen) och där fungerade allting som det skulle men.... det var otroligt fuktigt på rummet, det kändes som sängskläderna var våta, kläder som hängde i lilla hallen blev fuktiga dem också;det kändes ganska konstigt att vara inne på rummet. Annars är rummen stora, sängarna väldigt bekvämma och vi ger ett stort plus för det fina inomhus poolen!!! Barnen trivdes där och vi är trots allt ganska nöjda med det hela. Đọc thêm
