Hampton Inn Huntington/Barboursville - Barboursville

My room seemed clean but the general areas were downright dirty for this hotel! The hall floors looked like they had not been cleaned in weeks, the maintenace room was open and disorganized, the front desk attendee was apathetic. Very comfortable room BUT thin walls I heard every word the guy next to me was saying on the phone and slamming doors.

We stayed here because it is inexpensive and close to Grandma's house, without thinking about comfort or amenities. We were pleasantly surprised to find the room VERY comfortable, clean, and well-appointed. Steak and Shake, Sonic in walking distance...awesome.

We were traveling with a high school cross country team that needed breakfast, which was included in the stay. Every time the toaster and microwave were on at the same time, a fuse blew. The woman in charge of the breakfast area was very annoyed that she had to deal with that issue.

We chose this hotel for a quick one night stay in route to Ohio. Having an 11 month old son who crawls around on the floor, and being a "neat freak" myself, I am always looking for clean hotels to stay in. I chose this hotel based on the other good reviews and my previous fantastic experience with Hampton Inn! Was very clean and close to all shopping. Short drive to downtow. Would definitely stay again.

Fairly nice room with really bright light outside the window. Modern design and up to date room. Had some leak around the bathtub faucet, but clean and neat.

You are in Barboursville....so the average hotel is pretty run down. Except this place. I've stayed twice so far and think the rooms are a good size. Only issue was a screaming kid in the room next to mine at 12 in the morning. But I was too tired to complain and it sounded as if the parents were making an effort to quiet the little brat. We greatly enjoyed our room despite the fact that we couldn't get the room quite as cool as we wanted (we like it cold even in winter). The free breakfast came with a pretty good selection. The staff was very helpful. We were annoyed by someone down the hall who snuck a dog into a pet-free hotel and couldn't keep him quiet late in the evening - and […] although the hotel is not allowed to do anything unless they physically see a pet in a room, we enjoyed hearing about what the hotel is allowed to do when they do catch someone being deceitful in that way. We really love this hotel. Whenever we travel from Illinois to North Carolina we make a point to stop here. the staff is very friendly and accommodating and the breakfast is great. It can get full so make sure to book early.

This hotel was very clean and the staff was extremely curtious. I arrived late in the evening and was extremely tired. The check in process took 3 minutes to complete and the staff asked if I needed a wake-up call in the morning. The room was very clean and comfortable. I was very impressed with my whole stay. I would definitely stay here again.

This hotel looked new on the inside. Our room was one of the best I've ever stayed in. The staff was VERY nice. Everything about the hotel was great!

I travel a lot for business and am used to a strong performance by Hampton Inn operators across the country. This one did not impress me as much as others. First, the unit is in need of a renovation, inside and out. Secondly, the personnel were in my opinion allowed to dress and present themselves in less than top professional condition, i.e. dress […] and grooming. I sensed a lack of strong management there. It seems tome that the hotel is playing to the low level of its competition in the local market. All that being said, there are not a lot of great choices from which to choose in this market. Super staff-after a storm staff hurried to clean up pool area. They were very eager to please. Front desk lady was friendly and gave us great directions on getting to certain stores and local places to visit. THIS hotel we will visit again, on our trip to the east coast!

The hotel for the most part was a nice hotel. However, there seemed to be a structural problem with all the rooms on our floor. The doors stuck. It seemed to be the same with the rooms around us since we would hear people coming in late at night and having to repeatedly slam the door in order to get it closed.
