Hotel is quite run-down. While room was clean, it was quite uncomfortable esp the bathroom. I requested a king bed and got two single beds which were later pushed together. A few staff members were pleasant but overall service was poor. Our first night, we had no idea where to eat and when we asked for assistance at one of the restaurants we were completely […] ignored. Every time we tried to access the guest services office for any kind of information - there was a long wait and we ended up having to leave. Food was not very good. Husband & I stayed for 2 nights following a cruise and what a delightful experience. Our room was overlooking the ocean and the grounds were beautiful. Plenty of choices for dining and enjoyed the pools and beach. Wish we stayed longer.

Just got home 14/02/12 Relaxed & refreshed. Accomodation: Stayed in the Superior Deluxe Beachfront rooms.The title of this room is slightly mis-leading. Yes it does have Beachfront views, quite stunning, and is at the quieter end of the hotel complex. Be warned if the kids are on holiday, it overlooks a childrens play area and can get a bit 'Screamy'. […] (early) As for the room itself, I feel this does not warrant the title of 'Superior Deluxe'. It's your average room with en-suite bathroom, and a nice balcony. Very clean but not that special. Tea and Coffee making facilities are provided but NO plug sockets near amenities so had to boil kettle in Bathroom. Not a good place to make a cuppa; by the toilet! Or take the risk carting a boiling hot kettle from room to room. (in flip flops) The actual Hotel is very spacious, very clean but rather Colour-less. Horizen Bar could do with a more 'Tropical' and welcoming factor. However, the bar staff, in all bars were very friendly. I do question the strength of their alcohol though, having been in the Trade myself. Very good service in all Restaurants with friendly staff. If you want a 'Stunning Beach' this place has it. Lots of sunbeds, and lovely Carribean Sea. All in all a Good Holiday...Just be aware of the price you pay for a beachfront view. We went there with the family last week and had a wonderful time. I booked three rooms, all of which were adjacent to each other and well kept. Travelling with three small children, we felt it important to have a resort with a kids club and a calm beach with lots of activities. Almond Beach Village does not disappoint. Having read some reviews before […] we went, our concern was about the condition of the hotel and the service. Although the hotel is older than the Almond Casuarina, where we stayed before, the beach was not as rough and there were lots chances to swim with turtles, scuba, jet ski, fishing, banana boats, etc. The Casaurina resort is for those looking for a really nice beach and convenient access to the St.Lawrence gap for nightlife. Almond Beach Village beach is not as nice but much more kid-friendly as the water is calmer. If the shoreline was a little less rocky, the beach would be perfect. In fact, the beach adjacent to ABV near the marina is beautiful. You can't have everything I guess. Being a large party (9) with kids we were concerned about service during dinner. There was only one night where that was a problem. Overall the food was good and plentiful. We especially enjoyed the local cuisine including fish and Bajan dishes. The variety was fine for kids as well. Hotel service was good. Almond could improve their guest services area. Although all staff were happy to help, both the dinner reservation and overall guest services area was busy and inefficient. The kids club staff were great. Our kids spent one rainy afternoon there and about an hour a day if there was an activity they wanted to do - all of which were posted clearly outside the club. This is a small resort but it has most of the amenities you need. The age of the resort shows but it is not intolerable as some reviews have stated. It was older but clean. Great resort. Perfect for a family. We were at Almond Village with our childs (5 years and 2 years) in december 2011 and it was perfect. Food is excellent, beaches are very nice, pools are superb and the temperature was delicious (28 degrees). The staff is very nice. The tours are increadible and there is a lot of choice. We strongly recommend.

This hotel was not rated correctly - this is a 2* hotel. The rooms were very small. My beach front view was of a tree and could not see the beach in any way. The room was full of bugs, especially around the toilet seat - not fun sitting on a toilet with bugs crawling between your legs. The stairs leading up to the room smelled like vomit and urine - […] not pleasant. The restaurants were a nuisance to go to. There was no where we could just walk in and eat i.e. buffet. We were forced to make reservations and if we were too late, then we could not eat - sorry we are full. The food was OK, just OK! Breakfast did not change at all - same thing over and over and you were eating with ants on the table. Wait, that was for each restaurant. Service was slow everywhere!!! Oh and you had to line up everywhere you went - breakfast line ups was about a 15-20 min wait. NOT FUN! The beaches were small - brown sand and again just OK. The pools were dirty and most of them were either closed of for kids. The bars ran out of liqueur and no one served you - you were consistently going back and forth to get a drink, on an empty stomach. The entertainment was very bad - they stage looked so dirty and ghetto, I couldn't believe my eyes. The entertainment each night was a band - a crappy band on a crappy stage. There was no other form of entertainment and hence forced to go to sleep. But who could sleep when it sounded like the band was in your room. Not only is the hotel rooms above restaurants - so they smell like food, they were also situated close to the entertainment section so there was no way to go to sleep or watch TV on a normal volume level until the show was over. The placement of the rooms, restaurants, pools and beaches were so far and spread and seem so confusing - poor design layout. The people were nice, the staff was nice - they were all fantastic. We had a wonderful holiday at Almond Beach Village. The pools were fantastic for the kids and the beach was right next to two of the pools. Lots of free watersports as well as a selection of trips to other parts of the island (extra cost). A great venue just for adults too, with huge adult only pool and restaurant. We stayed at block 7, which was way out of the way from the main area. We did a lot of walking with 2 kids. Would not recommend it when you have young ones. The food was great just need a ittle more variety. The rooms were clean wish the maids cleaned before 2pm. overall the hotel was good. The kids enjoyed the pool area. Would definitely go back.

The hotel is located at the north of the Island, by Speightstown. This is the 2nd largest city on Barbados (but it's still Tiny, Population around 800 people). The location is good, about 45 minute taxi from airport (around $50US). The resort is large but not huge, it takes around 5 minutes to walk from one side to the other. Food - 5/5 - lot's of […] variety, 4 restaurants offering a la carte food for dinner. Amazing fresh fish everyday, beach BBQs Drinks - 5/5 - All the main brands, lots of blended cocktails and some great Rum! Pools - 4/5 - 10 pools, so you'll be able to find one for you. some are loud/quiet, for kids or for adults so there is plenty of choice. Rooms - 3/5 - The rooms are the main variable thing about the hotel. THey are undergoing refurbishment across the hotel so some rooms could do with an update. Having said that, they are large and have the main amenities. Our room didn't have a fridge or minibar which was a surprise. Beach - 5/5 - Beautiful clear water and clean sand. Heaven. Watersports - 4/5 - Lot's of choice, Kayaks, Sailing, Pedalos, Banana Boat, Waterskiiing - you do have to get up early to book yourself in for waterskiing as it's very popular. the staff is great. the wedding coordinator was awesome. the resort has a cozy feel, and you get to know everyone during your stay. in regards to the beach...beach club and spa has a tiny beach and has an older crowd...if you want a bigger beach and a variety of the crowd, beach village would be a better choice.

it was our first holidays in an all inclusive hotel. we spent a very good time. if you are familiar with this type of holidays and hard to please, you might be disappointed, but for us it was a pleasant surprise. the place is nice, relaxing, spacious, with pools everywhere. the water sports club is great (except when it's overcrowded). we enjoyed hobbie […] cat, wakeboard, banana boat, kayak... you can leave your children at the kids club, which offers many activities. food and rooms are ok (the sofa is only suitable for young kids) . one very bad point: don't leave your valuables unattended. our camera was stolen at the breakfast table (probably by one of the employees)! The hotel is excellent for a family vacation. Staff were very friendly. Accommodation was acceptable and the environment great. I believe more could be done to recycle, reuse etc to save the environment. Towel control should be one that can help. If guests were allowed so many towels per day let's say there would be more care taken. Also, there is very […] elegant Italian restaurant but unfortunately one has to be 16 years or older to go. There are many who are much younger and would surely like to go. I can understand not allowing bAbies and very young children. My boys were very disappointed to not be able to dine in this fine restaurant. They are 12 and 10. The manager at the restaurant was most considerate and really went out of her way to be helpful. My wife, myself, and 2 kids stayed at the Almond Beach Village July 2009. Half of our trip was at the Hilton in Bridgetown and the other half of our trip was here. The hotel is a little older (and it shows), but for the price we paid was a good choice. The beach around the hotel is not picturesque, it has many trees, but not the tropical look of palm […] trees etc. Getting into the water may be a bit tricky due to the rocks. The Hotel staff upon reception, and the maid and all the staff were very very nice. I mean extremely nice. Mkae sure you bring 1 pair of long pants and dress shoes as they will not let you in some of the restaurants if you only have shorts. Bom dia! Esse hotel fica muito longe do centro, só falam inglês, a limpeza é péssima e alguns dos funcionários são arrogantes. Exigem o uso de trajes sociais em pleno Caribe. A praia é pequena e cheia de pedra.

Estive nesse hotel no período de 09/07/11 a 12/07/11 quando precisei retornar por motivo de saude. Fiquei decepcionado com o Hotel por alguns motivos. O 1º e a distãncia do aeroporto 40/45 min, a foto do quarto naõ condiz com a realidade, onde se lê um sofa cama na foto apresentada no site, lêia-se uma cama de armar horrivel e que nenhum dos meus filhos […] consegui dormir. A cama de casal (qdo da reserva pelo hotel.com solicitei 2 queen beds) não passava de duas camas de solteiro juntas. o mobiliario é velho e antigo e o banheiro estava sujo, sem ralo e com pouca agua saido chuveiro. Para o jantar em restaurantes que são ao ar livre, não há ar condicionado e exigem que os homens usem calça e camisa com gola, naquele calor infernal. O hotel possuem 10 piscinas só que crianças até 16 Anos (ou seja adolecentes) não podem usar todas as piscinas somente as destinadas as crianças com agua pelo joelho, mesmo acompanhads pelos pais, a segurança paassa o tempo todo solicitando a saída das criancas da piscina.Solmente no ùltimo dia consegui um horário para velejar (meia hora) pois a seman já estava toda tomad. O hotel tem uma das melhores estruturas de lazer para um casal ou uma família com filhos pequenos. Muito espaçoso, amplo, com uma variedades enorme de comidas e bebidas, durante todo o dia, sem perder a qualidade. Um verdadeiro LL INCLUSIVE!
