King's Hotel Center - Munich

I was very pleasantly surprised by The King's Hotel Center. When we arrived at the hotel with quite a bit of cargo (my husband was traveling with a large bike case) they upgraded us to a larger room at no cost. The hotel is within walking distance of most major sights, shopping, etc. My only complaint would be the limited 30 minutes of free wifi per day, at least an hour would be more in line with the quality of this hotel. It was our first time in Munich so it's difficult to rate this hotel. It just seemed pricey compared to other similar hotels in other cities. (We paid just under 200 Euros per night). On the positive side, the room is well appointed, nicely furnished with a beautiful bed and the general theme is pleasant. The rooms are clean, the staff was friendly, […] so no issues there. We did not have to pay for wi-fi so no complaints there either. Location is great especially for the train station, S and U bahns and yes, there are a few clubs about but the area seemed perfectly safe. It's only a few minutes walk to the start of the pedestrian precinct so it's a good location for tourism too. We did not try the breakfast as there are cheaper places in the neighbourhood for breakfast. We had two issues. One, the a/c in our room was primitive, a simple dial with no indication as to whether it was working or what the temperature setting was. It was pretty cold during our 3 day stay so we cranked it up full and the room temperature was OK. The second issue was the bathroom, small, little space for toiletries if there are 2 people resident. Also no shampoo and conditioner which are pretty much ubiquitous everywhere in hotels of this price. In general though, the hotel was OK. Đọc thêm

Great location, 15-20 minute walk to the old section of Munich. Close to the train station. Friendly staff and clean rooms. I would stay here again!

Room clean, suitable space for an overnight stay, nice and close to Hauptbahnhof - easy to drag luggage to & from. The extensive use of timber was nice and classy compared to many "modern" hotels.

Can’t fault the Kings Hotel, we were only staying for one night but we were made to feel very welcome, the room was clean and tidy with some nice individual touches such as the art work, warm furnishings, coffee machine (Club Room) and slippers and robes on request. The hotel also has a cosy bar and lounge area to relax and enjoy a drink in. Location […] is Ok, you’re close to the train station which is a plus but it can also be a minus although the Kings hotel is not in an area that gave us any concerns. Indeed it is quite central and it did not take long to walk into the main tourist attractions, approx. 10 - 15 minutes. We found Kings Central to be perfect as could walk with ease to galleries and museums and town centre. Also close to good eating and drinking spots. Station on doorstep for day travel. The staff were courteous and helpful. The room spacious and comfortable with small extras like mending kits and shoe horns. The reception staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean. Excellent location next to central station, with sights, restaurants, cafes and beer halls all within a 3 minutes walk.

This is a very nice hotel let down by a lack of tea making facilities in the rooms. Coffee, available in the bar, is expensive and dreadful.

We reserved and paid in advance for two non-smoking club rooms. When we checked in they gave us the two club rooms but one was a smoking room on the smoking floor. It had a terrible smell. When we went downstairs to request a non-smoking room, they told us they didn't have anymore nonsmoking club rooms and that we would have to downgrade to a smaller […] room if we wanted non smoking. The only problem is that Internet access is limited to 30 minutes per day which is not enough when you are traveling. In France Internet is free and continuous.

Cosy and welcoming hotel with friendly helpful staff. Central and safe location. The rooms were small but nicely decorated and very clean. Only one complaint was the heat in the bedroom, it was just too hot to sleep and no obvious way to regulate it. That said I would certainly stay there again.

Motel was perfect for what we needed it for, and very nice. Also proximity to railway station was a benefit for the overnight stay. Pity we weren't able to enjoy it a bit longer.

Pleasant stay. Room was clean and spacious. Bathroom was big and comfortable. The toilet, however, began to emanate a foul smell after the first few uses. This may have been an issue with the building's plumbing, which was only slightly mitigated when the courteous hotel staff changed us to a bigger room. Staff were great and very helpful, but our room was not clean. Old papers were laying all over the desk, there was an open, almost empty chip bag on the table, and the sheets had not been changed... wrinkly and had hairs on them from past occupants. Will not stay here again.

JUst returned from a 4 night stay - this was our 3rd visit to this hotel and it was as good as ever. Excellent central location and very comfortable rooms with everything you need. Great hotel, comfy rooms with friendly and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast and a great location only a few minutes walk from the Central Station which makes it very easy when arriving from the airport. The hotel is only ten minutes walk from the centre, from shops, eating places and many of the sights. Excursions further afield to places like Salzburg, […] Rotenburg and the unmissable Neuschwanstein Castle are easily accessible from the Central Station, as are the outlying areas of Munich. Marienplatz, the Residenz, the English Garden and many other sights are easily walkable. The hotel staff speak excellent English, were very helpful even before we arrived when we needed to have concert tickets delivered to the hotel, and provided great service during the stay. We stayed two nights (10/15-10/16/2012). The room was clean and comfortable. Our room faced the street and was a bit noisy with the window open, but very quiet with the window closed. We felt the ventilation system, which only works with the window closed, left the room a bit too warm at night. Very close to main train station. We rented a car from […] the station, but the pick-up location was actually right next to the hotel - very convenient so we didn't have to drag our bags back to the train station. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast is a bit expensive, but the buffet had most everything you could possibly want. The group with 6 teenage boys sure got their money's worth! We ate dinner at the Italian restaurant across the street and it was good. About a 10 to 15 minute walk to the Marianplatz. Good service. Good hotel, rooms are small but really comfortable, Internet available 9euro for 24 hours... We had street facing room you couldn't hear traffic. Right next to main train station easy to get to from airport. Less than a 5 min walk to centre with restaurants and shops which is straight down the road. We stayed here on a leg of our honeymoon. Very nice hotel in a great location. Close to the train station and easy walking distance to both Okotoberfest and downtown. Staff was friendly and helpful. Definitely would recommend if you are looking to take in the sites of Munich.

I was quite happy with this hotel until I discovered that breakfast was an extra 12 Euro charge. All other hotels I have used in Munich in this price range included breakfast so I assumed that this one would also.
