Room was nice, breakfast ok, staff not friendly (surly attitude), getting to the town center a bit cumbersome although manageable (buy tickets with coins first, then take bus from other location 500m away)

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the hotel as some 4 * hotels are not what I would class as 4*. The hotel has a very friendly staff and the receptionists spoke very good English. The room was very comfortable and clean and the breakfast was excellent. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to others to stay here.

Very nice hotel. Parking was 9Euro per day in open lot in front of the hotel. It is about a 20-25 minute walk to the city center. The neighborhood has a few restaurants in the immediate area. We had a triple room where 3 single beds were squeezed in just, but that is as bad as it got for us. Breakfasts were good, yes it's a little out of town but easy enough to get to, it's very close to the bus station which meant we could get a day trip to Vienna in our packed schedule. Overall if I was to come back to Bratislava I'd stay here again

This hotel is not suitable for Young families, elderly or disabled. The dining room is on the first floor with no access to it by lift. Only stairs. And no high chairs in the dinning area. The pictures of the hotel on the website provides a very misleading idea of what the hotel and surrounds actually looks like. There are claims of a Michelin chef in the kitchen, but the food is greasy and unimaginative. The area around the hotel is depressing and very poorly maintained. some of the hotel staff extremely helpful others had a "didn't care attitude". The girl with glasses and young guy and a young blonde girl very helpful. the older staff didn't seem to care. The buffet breakfast was poor standard for a 4 star. Location not the best cab or bus to old town and shopping centres.

We drove into Bratislava and found the hotel relatively easily without satnav. First impressions were very good. Beautiful reception area and very pleasant, welcoming staff who spoke very good English. Room was very spacious, well equipped and comfortable. The walk to the city centre may be a little further than advertised but is manageable. Mixed feelings. Basically it was a good hotel with a few annoyances that let it down.The rooms,restaurant and food were all good. There was a varying degree of politeness from the reception staff. Most of them were very helpful but the odd one didn't seem to like being interrupted. We were also not given a wake up call which was needed to catch a train […] to Budapest. We asked for extra pillows and were told twice there weren't any. We also asked for an ice bucket and was told there was only one in the hotel. On asking for ice we were given a glass full and when asked for more were told they were running out of ice, come on this is a 4* hotel. The third bed which looked very sturdy was absolutely creaky every time my son moved which meant we all had interrupted sleep. Two towels were left instead three on one occasion. When asking for the complimentary evening shuttle as stated by the manager on tripadvisor the receptionist shrugged her shoulders and said there wasn't one. Expedia pages should be more precise about included services in this hotel. It does not seem that the information on Expedia is correct. After arrival I was told that breakfast is included, same information I saw on Expedia. When we came to the restaurant we got stuck with a bill (13 euro per person, 5 per kid). I do not mind paying when I choose to, but I hate to be put in such a situation. Also, if such an error is made, any descent hotel should take responsibility and avoid billing customer. To be precise, it seems that they eventually realized that , when leaving the hotel 2 days later, I was informed that they will remove this charge from my bill. It was very hot wen we were there (>40C, >100F). The room had good air-conditioner but the rest of the hotel was super-hot. This applies to hallways, lobby, stairs, restaurant etc., and the elevator, which is a metal cage running outside the building was an oven (painful to enter). The Apollo Hotel is pretty good overall. The largest negative about the room was the incredibly small shower. I am a pretty thin person, and yet I kept banging my arms against the glass because it was so hard to move around in the little shower. It was incredibly small, even by European standards. Bad because it is not near the airport nor the city center, but rather in between, and since it is a residential area, there is not much going on near the hotel. Hotel was choosen mainly because of the distance to our company. After arrival we found a very nice hotel in walking distance to our office and the inner city. The rooms are clean and all needed is available. Service is good and friendly. I slept VERY well in the bed, which is for me the most important thing. I will book this hotel again next time.

The hotel was very nice and clean. Our room for three was a good size and once we'd rearranged the furniture to make a more pleasant layout (to give each of us a bedside table!) it was fine. Comfortable hotel, but not greatest service. The breakfast was poor - poor selection, had to wait ages for the omelette which was completely over-cooked. A bit away from the city centre, but walkable distance. Several decent restaurants nearby, with good food that was excellent value for money.

This is a great hotel for a really good price. The free mini bar in the room was awesome and the hotel restaurant was excellent at very decent prices. The hotel reception even mailed me my phone charger with some free candy after I left it in the room! Overall we had an excellent stay and would reccommend to anyone travelling to Bratislava.
