This hotel gave us some surprises. First the check in was quite tedious and complicated as we had to fill in so many forms. The hotel seems to be quite old (some years before a different owner). We have been travelling in SE Asia for six weeks and this was the last hotel of 14 that we stayed at. It was also the most expensive hotel we used. The facilities of the hotel were good. Lovely pool with a good number of sun beds. Room was spacious and clean. We were upgraded when we arrived. The downside of this hotel is the service. When we arrived […] we were not made to feel welcome. Service at breakfast, pool and evening drinks was adequate but unenthusiastic, there were very few smiles and we felt as if we were an inconvenience. A ten percent service charge is applied to all bills but this is not a tip for the staff. They don’t seem to understand the concept and hence this could explain the mediocre service. This hotel was advertised as 5 star but don’t go here if you expect five star service. No one speaks very good English and it is a struggle to be understood even at the front desk. Almost all queries to staff warranted a phone call to some higher authority which seemed odd. There is a boat service from the hotel to the Skytrain and Metro stations but the area around the hotel is a bit run down. The Asiatique centre is within easy walking distance of the hotel. This hotel is nice. The breakfast buffet is ok, but not great. However, the seating area is lovely right along the river. The rooms are nice, especially looking out over the river. However, the set up of the room is odd. When you walk in, you are going through the bathroom area into the living area. There is a screen between the bathroom and the living […] area so the toilet area is not very private. It would be an improvement if they made the toilet and bath area more private. The hotel staff were very helpful and professional and the location on the river is good as there is a hotel boat that goes across and gives guests access to many areas. From the moment you step out of your mode of travel,with a uniform of a kings guard your door is opened with a grand welcoming ,such a beautiful foyer. I was shown to my room by a young English speaking man,explaining all the services the hotel has to offer. I needed some parcels send , the concierge was very helpful,speaking English helped with the process. It's definitely a four star hotel, via Hotels.com we got it for 3 star price --- the shuttle ferry takes you up into the center of the city every 30 minutes so it's a goodt location in spite of not being "central"

Meget fin beliggenhet og høy standard på rommet. Dette er vel kanskje det hotellet jeg vil foretrekke ved mitt neste opphold i bangkok. Fikk oppgradert rommet til et meget fint rom i 14etasje, topp standard med en fantastisk utsikt over elven og trafikken. Meget god service og topp fasiliteter på hotellet. The hotel is located near sky train station and has shuttle boat from Sathorn pier(next to sky train station). It is every 30 minute depart from the pier, so I have 2 choices to go to the hotel, by car or by boat. In front of the hotel also has convienient store and supermarket.

The hotel is rated as 5 stars but it is actually a 4 stars hotel.It is not a modern hotel, the style is 80´s so do not expect a modern refurnished hotel. The 4 stars are met by the quality of the facilities as such as a big pool, a spa and the gym that instead are new and well rated. The location is good since it is very close to the river and the hotel offers a free service by boat to reach the station where you can reach the public boat transportation station.
