If you are looking for a well-maintained, quaint historic hotel, the Continental is for you. I booked a junior suite that overlooked the Opera House (go for a higher floor for a better view). Some people have complained about the street noise, but I did not find it a problem in the least. The room was colonial quaint, but well maintained with a comfortable […] bed. It is a great tourist hotel as it bang in the city centre. The negatives are old-style rooms which become a bother due to noise from street. Aircon split is not effective enough. Hotel thrives on low room cost but makes up by charging high rates for water, coffee shop, drinks , food, etc.. Staff are not courteous enough to warrant a smile at them.

Classic dowager with many period features intact, maintained in very good condition. Efficient, helpful staff - not a given in Saigon. But could be much improved with a sensitive reno. Flatscreens, wifi, coffeemakers are here, but bathrooms in particular need to be brought up to 4-star standard - right now they are on a 2-3 star level.

Continental Saigon is a beautiful old building, that has old world charm but has all the modern facilities you need. I booked this hotel for its history (Graham Greene stayed here). I had a very large room, with beautiful colonial-style furniture. Very pleasant stay altogether. I was especially impressed by the professional staff, recalling old-time courtesy. The water pressure was a tad too low in my bathroom, but otherwise everything was perfect.
