This hotel is well located particularly if you're going to West Point but don't expect to do any work here if you need access to the internet. I've changed rooms twice and could not find a way to get a decent wireless connection. The signal was good but the speed was terrible and I could not do any work. I was overall quite impressed with the hotel. It is conveniently located to the United States Military Academy at West Point and nearby places of interest, and it is clean, comfortable, and quiet. My only complaint is that I fell very ill on my second night at the hotel (not the fault of the hotel or staff) and I attempted to call the front desk for […] minor assistance (not medical attention) for 4-5 hours between 9 PM and 2 AM by pressing the "Guest Services" button on the room phone. The line rang busy for that entire time, as if whomever was working the front desk had taken the phone off the hook. okay overall, however, there was NO hot water half the time. When I asked the front desk they said it was because I was on the opposite side of water heater in the hotel!!! Really??? They offered to move us to the other side, but who wants to move after being in a hotel for 2 days! It was just an "OK" place to stay, but there aren't a lot of choices in the area to choose from. Yes, I would stay again, as the hotel was fine, but after that, as far as restaurants and things to do, there isn't anything very close.

Nice comfortable hotel, but extremely poor wireless internet service. Internet connections frequently dropped, or would not even connect.

The way to turn the shower on should be a little more obvious. There was a towel covering the little sign that showed the instructions so I could not figure out how to get the water to come out of the shower head. Had to ask my son to show me. The hotel was very nice, in excellent condition and clean, and staff was quite professional, attentive, and pleasant. . . . The next door BBQ place is good for a simple dining experience and has a small sports bar as well. Other than this restaurant the site is somewhat remote. Much more dining and entertainment is available, though, in Peakeskill across […] the Hudson only about 10 mi away. . . . Breakfast was excellent. . . . My only complaint was the wi-fi service in my corner room. The room also had a wired jack so that worked great for my netbook, but for the ipad I needed to go to the lobby. Nice hotel. However the air conditioning did not stay on, it turned itself off an on every 10-15 minutes during the night. Not sure if it was on energy saver mode, but the room got stuffy and I woke up every time the air would turn off and on. In the morning the A/C stayed on. There were […] also no nearby restaurants that we could find, we ended up driving 30 minutes to find restaurants, Target and more civilization. Views nearby at Bear Mountain were beautiful though. Great location for visiting West Point. Staff helpful. Good food close by. Clean and new.

Expensive for a Holiday Inn but the facilities were very satisfactory. Very spacious king-sized suite, clean bathrooms, a pool and a fitness center. WIFI in the room was not very strong though. Television reception was spotty at best. Complimentary breakfast was good -- several cereal choices, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, toast, juice and coffee. […] Standard fare but done well. very pleasant stay, everything was clean & new,,,only one exception, there was no exhaust fan in the bathroom, which did not help with the steam & the heat.........but all else was good and we definitely will stay there again & recommend it to others...........

Holiday Inn is predictably good. Not flashy, not high luxury, but basic amenities in a comfortable and clean room. The breakfast buffet is decent and had appropriate variety. Definitely better than the limited continental breakfasts served by their competition. This was clean, comfortable and very convenient to west point. Not swanky, just basic and acceptable. Breakfast was decent. The only thing that was sort of low budget/annoying is those long room airconditioners that make so much noise and that you can never get set just right. The HI Express at West Point is a superb hotel in all aspects! The hotel, its staff and its amenities were all perfect. A shame that all hotels cannot be run as efficiently with a total focus on the guests.
