the place is old but the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. the staff was friendly. the coffee is really good.close to the opry and opry mills mall. not really walking distance though.

After staying at the Gaylord for 3 days for a chess tournament, I gave my wallet a break and switched to the Fidler's Inn for one night at half the price. The cab ride between the two properties is less than $5, and the adjacent Cracker Barrel Restaurant had excellent food at very reasonable prices. The phone in my room didn't work, and they replaced it within 20 minutes at 10 p.m. The bed was comfortable and I had no problem with noise, but that could probably be a problem at times. Just what we anticipated. The hotel was the cheapest and most convenient in the area. Very clean but needs maintenence work. Some of our trim was coming off the interior doors and the shower was clean but not working well the first night. The bed, again was clean, but missing the trim around the bottom so it looked as though it was held up with 2 x […] 6's. Not very "pretty" but certainly in the BEST location! And you get what you pay for. Friendly staff, friendly room cleaning staff as well. Walking distance to most of the area attractions (downtown Nashville is a 5 min drive) Tour buses leave directly from this hotel and many restaurant/ bars/ museums steps from your door. The sheets were blood stained but hotel service was prompt in changing them at phone call request. There was no microwave or refrigerator in the room, which comes faily standard at most hotels. really enjoyed it. We went to the Grand Ole Opry. The hotel drove a van and took us to the show and came back afterward and drove us back to the hotel. Every one we came in contact with were great.The only thing , the shower was not the greatest, but it was a big hotel and lots of people bathing at the same time I am sure. I was there last weekend with some friends. Although we would have preferred to stay downtown, but NCAA was in town and nothing avaible. We booked at Fiddler's Inn and were pleasantly surprised. Although a little outdate, it was comfortable and staff was very pleasant. We had access to multiple dining choices within walking distance. The shuttle to […] downtown was available every hour. The hotel is located across from the Grand Ole Opry and in the same parking lot as the Texas Troubador Theatre and other interesting places. The front of the a/c unit in the bedroom was falling off... And also the shower was horrible it constantly went from cold to hot.... Wouldn't recommend staying there even if you plan on doing nothing but sleeping.....

Booked for 2 days but didnt even stay 1! The hotel is like a 20-30 min drive from downtown via the expressway. The attractions nearby are nothing spactacular. The wax museum closed a few years ago! Arrived at hotel to drop of belongings before heading tI downtown area, room is not close to what is pictured! Very outdated! Can barely close the bathroom […] door when having to use the toilet because the room is too small....came back from downtown then went to leave again but the door would not lock! Was told the maintenance wouldnt be in until 8am the next day. At first they didnt offer to move us, but after we asked to cancel and packed up our stuff, they offered to....the phone in the room didnt work so I had to use my phone to call and have someone even come and look at the door! It appears as if they also rent out rooms for people to live in...the room next to ours had a senior citizen living it! The man was polite but I felt sooo bad for him having to spend his golden years living in a hotel! Overall, not the worst hotel I've been deceived by online....the room was clean! There was water standing in bathtub and they said they would send someone and they never did. We all woke up around four in morning coughing and sneezing. When we checked out, I complained about the bathtub and the front desk woman argued with me that this was a new room and there was no way the bathtub had water standing in it. It was your typical Motel 6 type hotel. The motel was exactly what we expected. The motel was very convenient to the Grand Ol Opry and had lots of close by shopping and dining options. It was a cheap room in comparison to others in the area we wanted to stay so like I said we got what we paid for. Desk clerk was very helpful. Not one out of the three staff I spoke with ever smiled or offered help or assistance. The bed was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in.

Stayed one night and went to the grand ole opry - great location nothing spectacular about the hotel. Service wasn't great at check in- slow. Not great not bad - good for price.

Love the location of this hotel. The rooms are clean and relatively comfortable, but need updating. We stay here after late night Packer playoff games, and will stay here in the future. Hotel has reasonable prices, but needs up dating and a better continental breakfast. overall we are satisfied staying here.

It was a nice, basic hotel which was all I needed for this stay. The room and the bathroom were clean, but the bed was somewhat hard. There was just coffee and pasteries for breakfast but there is a Cracker Barrel right next door. The staff were pleasant and helpful.

I'm aware that this may have been an historical facility at one point in time. The hotel was really old fasion. the beds were very uncomfortable and the linen looked as if it came from early to late 70's. Our room was supposed to be double queen beds, they looked more like to full size beds. the rooms were very small.

The shower is horrible! It will go from ice cold to burning hot without you touching it. The breakfast consists of muffins and honey buns. This hotel is Not worth the money. The Guest house next door is cheaper and much better!

The room was mostly clean but a bit dated. Everything worked and you can't beat the location. My only complaint was the bed. The floor might have been more comfortable then their rock hard bed. My back was sore for 2 days. If you don't mind a hard bed then this room is for you.

Clean....Safe area and walking distance from the Opry for most folks...avoid shuttles taxis etc......light cont. breakfast fine......Cracker Barrel next door........Well worth the price.....I'll stay again next time in Nashville...

my room was next to the breakfast room, so there was a lot of noise starting very early in the morning. sleeping in wasn't much of an option. but it's close to the opryland, and it certainly beats their nightly rate. it was a place to keep my stuff, sleep - and for that it served its purpose.

Been there in last resort, never again. We've spend 1 week in Tennessee. That was from far the worst of all hotel that we've stayed in! Room was a return in the 70... In my parents's room, the bathtub had two holes... yes, 2 holes. We don't know if water was leaking but anyway... That place really need to be freshen up. The comfort was very basic. The […] walls were so "thin" that we could hear everything that was going on outside. I don't even want to think about what it would be in cold weather. ...I almost forgot, that was also the only place where we didn't get the free breakfast... The place, not that well located in an old room, was to small and when we arrived, almost everything was empty! So we've just turned back and went to eat in town. Older hotel lacking in amenities that many travelers now expect. Grounds surrounding the hotel could be cleaner. While pet friendly no real good place to walk your pet is available. Location a plus. This is a older hotel and somewhat out of date. However it has been well taken care of and was absolutly spotless. The shuttle downtown was cheap and on time. This hotel is by far the best value for your dollar in nashville!!

Hotel was ok for the price. Didn't have refrigerators or microwaves and breakfast was in a guest room in another building. Odd setup. Shower went from scalding to freezing. Employees were nice.
