Orla Hotel is conveniently located and the staff are helpful with restaurant recommendations. The breakfast is basic but filling. The rooms are basic and the pool on the roof is very tiny. If you are looking for no frills and conveniance then this is the place to stay.

Very small room...made worse by 3 single beds instead of just 2 normal single beds as requested. Ad photos deceptive showing rooftop pool...pool is only 10 feet X 10 feet, usually murky & not accessible on 2 of the 4 sides. The hotel is in an ideal location, right across from the beach. Staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms however were smaller than showed on any pictures. A continental breakfast is available and was good. We joined up for a tour and saw all the attractions. Prices in Rio are expensive, but everybody should see it.

I enjoyed my stay, Copacabana is not for everyone but this hotel also has easy access to Ipanema. Nice facilities, the pool/rooftop area is very nice and even the gym, although small is good for a hotel. Highly recommend.

My room was quite small and in need of some up keep. Room quite dark. I found most of the front desk staff to have an attitude. I did not find them friendly or welcoming at all. Restaurant staff were very friendly.

Hotel lobby nice but rooms not as clean and modern. Minimal security vs other hotels, ie hotel key not required for access to floors. Staff ok, helpful, but charge for everthing. Breakfast offered, ok, rather go out to get own. Location great, close to ipanema and on copacabana. Stay for location, not quality/cleanliness.

I booked a room at this hotel because it was recommended to me by family members with high standards. It did not live up to the expectations set by their recommendations. The room was dirty, smelled wierd and a little depressing. The only plus was the view we had of cococabana beach. Great little hotel right opposite the beach. It has a brilliant roof terrace with great views of sugar loaf and the beach. The staff were friendly and the breakfast brilliant. The rooms are quite small but to be expected in rio.

The hotel frontage is relatively narrow but this hotel does look out onto Copacabana beach and as such is definitely convenient. There are bars and restaurants nearby as one would expect. Most of the rooms however seem to have smallish windows looking to the side without sea view so if you definitely want a sea view then you will need to pay for it […] and book those rooms! The hotel itself is reasonably clean and apparently 'quite okay' for the area. I felt my room, although I paid extra for 'Superior', was on the small side (I still wonder what I got extra for my money but there is not much of a definition available), the bathroom was 'okay', the bed reasonably comfy etc. Just nothing to write home about. The aircon unit, although efficient, was very loud and I turned this off to sleep and to take business calls! Breakfast is a continental style buffet, again 'okay'. As for the wi-fi, note that the 'free' or inclusive wi-fi advertised relates to 'slow' wi-fi (dial-up speed!), if you want reasonable wi-fi there is a charge of around $9/day. If I need to go back, this was my first trip to the area, I may well try elsewhere before booking here again. One further thing, if you require internet access on your last day, note that the hotel wi-fi only works if you have a room number so your access is lost at check-out, there is no facility to pay with a credit card for example. Highly overpriced. Do no go by the pictures. The room was small, dark and noise. The air conditioner reminded me the subway platform in NYC, so noise it was. Children playing in the hallways at 7AM every day of my stay. The shower stall was dark and I got a lighter to confirm my suspicion: it was so filthy that I could write on the tiles. They offer complimentary breakfast but, the dining room is so small that I couldn't help bumping into other guests. I asked for directions to get a bus to the airport. The front desk agent told me the bus stopes on the street right behind the hote. After waiting for over one hour for the bus, I realized it didn't stopped there but three blocks over. There are a few good things like the location on Posto 6, which is close to Ipanema, where you can find good restaurants open after hous. The bellman Junior has a million dollars smile and can give you good tips on where to go and things to do. There is a pool on the rooftop that has a great view of Copacabana but, the pool has to be the smallest pool I ever saw in my life. Did I mentioned that they charge for the use of the safe in the room? The mattres of the room 403 is sinking on the left side. Save yourself the aggravation and stay somewhere else. This was my first time visitng Brasil for me and my wife. When we were booking ou trip, we looked at several other Hotels which were a lot more expensive, did not include breakfast and the check in time was at 4pm. You literally wak across the street. Ipanema Beach is also very close, a few blocks away. The breakfast was amazing, a variety of fresh fruits and juices. The service was very good too. The rooms are a little small but very cozy and clean. But for us who were only in the Hotel to sleep and shower it was perfect. The Wi-Fi worked great, we had no problems getting service. It was very easy getting around, there were usually private drivers in front of the Hotel to take you anywhere around the City. The service from the staff was very professional and helpful. They even exchanged money for a lot better price than at the Aiport, so I would recommend changing it there. I would also recommend doing the "One day Tour" and watching the "Plataforma Show". But don't book the Tour from the Hotel because they are more expensive. At the beach, there are tourists guides handing out flyers for the tours which are cheaper. Rio is also very safe there are Police everywhere. I would defintely recommend the Orla Hotel to anyone, I know if we were to go back, we would book it again at the Orla Hotel. Đọc thêm

Shower was awesome - lots of pressure and hot water! Rooms are small - be prepared to have a room with a double bed and closet and desk and tv but there is really not much room between the bed and everything else. (Not a suprose for Rio). Also can smell chlorine or something from pool on roof. Windows simply look out onto other windows and walls (but this is typical Rio). Looks like hotel has been remodelled and renovated with new modern fixtures, counters, etc. Safe in room was nice feature. Has air conditioning. Free breakfast was good with nice clean fresh ambiance. Overall I think first room would have been more ambient and comfortable (no cleaning smells) but it would have had little room for our super big suitcases. Not at all as advertised, felt more like a hostel. Staff recommended a awful restaurant for lunch. In the shower I stood in a foot of water. Rooms look out onto a wall and do not have a view. Rooms incredibly dark and depressing.

This was my second visit to the Orla and I found that not much had changed from my first visit in June 2010. The location is very convenient to Ipanema and Copacabana. The staff is very helpful and even the bellhops speak english, making it very convenient.

Unless you pay for most expensive option don't even hope for ocean view. reception staff seams to be judging guest by appearance so if you don't look like million dollars don't expect smile or staf going extra mile for you. First time in Brazil and at Carnival and don't speak Portugese. The rate is higher during Carnival (as expected) but great experience! Hotel staff super helpful, friendly and understood English well. My breakfast favorites were fresh bread and fruit. We at dinner at the restaurant a couple times and little pricier that outside but nice and quiet atmosphere […] and service. Several per kilo (by weight) buffets in walking distance. No view from room window but slept mostly in the day time because of Carnival events. Beach right across the street! Small pool on roof and great view of Copacabana Beach! Close to Metro, Ipanema, markets and 24 hour food places. We changed dollars to Reals at the front desk, but there were some banks close by too. I felt safe because they had extra guys in the lobby checking that people were hotel guests. Pay extra 5 Real per day for using the safe and Bellhop has to unlock it. I and my wife spent three nights in this hotel. We were very tired the night we have arrived and even didn't check the room before taking our luggage. It was simply a prison cell! Very small, the only window looking to the apartment toilets, no fresh air. And it was not clean enough (maybe just because the vacuum did not fit in the room!). This was my first time in Rio, so I find difficult to compare to other hotels in the area, but in general I found the hotel with the minimum necessary requirements.
