Grand Hotel - Krakow

Lovely hotel, high ceilings, old fashioned glamour. Great service. The best thing is the location, 2 mins walk from the square. No better place to see Krakow from.

As stated to customer service yesterday, my son and I were prevented from leaving the hotel early in the morning to catch our flight, because they wanted to search our luggage first! This hotel used to be a palace. Great decor inside with a lovely staircase leading to 2nd floor. The staff were attentive and helpful. The buffet breakfast had plenty of choice.Rooms were clean and comfortable with high ceilings. Not 5 star by UK standards, more of a 4 star but an enjoyable stay and I would use it again.

beds are law and mattersses maybe not the greatest but it is a grad hotel with 12 foot ceilings and onderful suites if u can spend extras money localisation cannot be better for the krakow culturasl herritage

This an excellent hotel situation right in the centre of the Old Town. There are plenty of restaurants and bars all very close by. Think it quite expensive under normal circumstances but we had an excellent deal presumably as we booked so early. Superb breakfast.

Staff friendliness, professionalism, ability to communicate in English and service was simply outstanding! Very spacious deluxe double room (#18) had 13-14' ceiling, wooden floors, chandelier, lots of lights and outlets, marble bath and huge stained glass windows immediately across from the room entrance. Included breakfast buffet with wide array of choices and seating in elegantly furnished as well as appointed formal dining room. Didn't use the club facilities because we were out. Wireless Internet performed flawlessly during our stay. Unfortunately, all these very positive aspects were entirely offset by the street noise caused by week night revelers immediately outside our room each night and early morning. If, for temperature control, you must open the window as we did, your senses will be assaulted by the commotion. This hotel is in a great position just around the corner from the grand square. It is a typical old style hotel, with vast corridoors and ornate staircases, but very little atmosphere. Buffet breakfast average as long as you dont order anything cooked as this takes for ever!!!

I had a lovely time. The staff are very friendly and efficient. They advised on and organised trips for me with no difficulty whatsoever and showed a great interest in how I got on when I returned. This is an older hotel 1 block from the old town square in Krakow. We stayed in one of the smaller rooms on the 3rd floor. It was nice but not amazing. The windows overlooked a side street with a club. It was a bit loud as the local university has just begun fall session and the students were out in force. Room far too small to accomodate anyone wth any degree of comfort. Air conditioning did not work even after reporting the problem. It took several swipes of card to enter the room. The Grand Hotel is in an ideal location, central to the main square and only 10mins walk to the bus/railway station. The staff are excellent and very helpful. Varied buffet breakfast, they offered to prepare a 'snack box' for my flight back home. This is my 3rd stay at the Grand and would not hesitate to visit again.

The staff were all helpful and very nice. Our original room faced the street and that area of town is very noisy all night long. But the staff moved us to a quieter location for the remainder of our time and it was wonderful. Be sure to ask for a room away from the street.

Nice hotel situatuated in the very nice town center om Crakow. Not in perfect shape but OK. Very friendly staff. One could recomend pepole to stay in this old fasion hotel with wide and long corridors. Couple in the 60:ies from Sweden.

The Grand lives up to its name in every respect from the magnificant staircase to its towering ceilings and marble bathrooms. We enjoyed our stay entirely. We booked this hotel on a friend's recommendation and we were not disappointed - main benefit of this hotel is an amazing location - just outside the main square and could not be more central. Other benefits of the hotel are very friendly and professional staff, all spoke very good English and the grandeur of the decor and comfortable and clean rooms. Negatives […] are minor - breakfast was adequate but not great and I was expecting slightly more of the room - it wasn't the biggest room and had limited TV and no tea/coffee making facilities. Having visited Prague a few years ago we ventured a little further east to Cracow. The city is delightful, with a great ambience. Thankfully many people working in the city centre speak English which made the stay easier, but even just a little outside we had to use our pigeon Polish. A visit to the Wieliczka Salt Mine is an absolute must (a short bus […] ride) and Auschwitz is only an hour away by bus and worth the trip. Other highlights were the Kopiec Kościuszki mound (we walked there from the city centre, but it's probably better to get the bus!) and the apparently permanent outdoor market in the main square. The square has restaurants on every side - a pleasure to try somewhere interesting and new every evening. There is an enormous Galeria shopping mall just a few minutes walk from the main square which is worth investigating. The Grand Hotel is just one block from the main city centre. The location meant we could step out for evening meals and drinks with ease. The hotel offers free Internet access but bizarrely this is wired Ethernet with no WiFi available although the excellent Metropolitan restaurant next door did provide this which was handy. We booked a superior room which was a slight waste - far too enormous, with a separate entrance room and day room. Aircon was poor but sufficient and very welcome. We recently traveled to five European cities. Krakow had the best overall accomodation with both friendlyness of staff, entrapeneurs and Polish citizens. Everyone made us feel welcome and met our every need. The Grand Hotel is in a great location to the city square plus shopping.
