A nice clean hotel 3 blocks from the beach at Copacabana. A safe walk even at night. Otherwise nothing special: but clean, safe, convenient, and relatively inexpensive. No bells or whistles.

Astoria Copacabana worked perfectly for my wife and I when we took an extended weekend in Rio. Close to two Metro stations, 2 blocks from the beach and a short walk to many restaurants. There was even a drugstore within 5 minutes where we stocked up on bottled water (R$1.50) and sunscreen sightseeing. The staff, particularly Franklin, were very helpful […] with dinner recommendations, calling a taxi and even locating a misplaced credit card. The hotel is very well located in copacobana. the breakfast was very good. but the hotel needs alot of maintence work , you can hear the plumbing the air condition etc.. the overall look is dated(but we liked it). the staff wer'nt so attentive.

It's an Ok place to stay, safe and functional. I would rate it three stars at best. the sheets were clean, internet was spotty (and expensive). Overall, it is functional, it will serve the purpose of accommodation and it's two blocks away from the beach. Customer service is exactly that (the customer offers the service :) )

My single occupancy room was literally 5 feet by 8 feet with a twin size bed. A wall mounted "closet" for clothes to hang in hung over the mini-fridge at the foot of the bed. The desk staff did not like nor want to speak in English. The breakfast buffet was bland. This was the WORST hotel room we've ever stayed in outside of America. It was located in the basement & did NOT even have a closet, so we could not take any clothes out of our luggage. If we had not prepaid as required due to New Years Eve, we would have found another hotel. Doesn't worth the price. It's an old hotel, overpriced. Staff people is far from been gentle. Good location and great breakfast.

Hotel is in a great location, but the room is small and the AC was quite noisy at times. Breakfast was great. Internet I think should be free but costs too much in my opinion for 24 hrs use.

I have stayed multiple times and always had a comfortable stay. Twin beds are annoying for Americans who are use to bigger beds. This is my 4th stay and I have no real complaints. Breakfast is also OK given the rates being paid.

The room was clean; the staff was friendly and the temperature was nice and cold. They have the typical amenities, pool, There aren't a lot of gym (which was closed for renovation) and breakfast (which was quite good). The price was fair for the time of year in Rio.

Nice and Quite, staff very helpful !! Internet didn't work in my rom so had to sit in lobby to use wireless. Overall not bad for the price, would stay here again !!

Hotel Room was comfortable, Clean, Good Desk Service. Breakfast was acceptable. The only issue was that the hotel is too noisy, you can clearly listen to the water pipes running in the middle of the night. The hotel is in easy reach of beach and restaurants, just a few minutes walk away. The hotel is undergoing refurbishment at present amd although not noisy, the finishing touches are missing. In a few months this hotel will be a much more pleasant place to stay. Staff were helpful.

Reception: very unfriendly. Maybe a room on a higher floor would have been better. We stayed on the first floor and it was very noisy and the room was very small. Have to say for the price we paid we expected a lot more.

The hotel is situated in a quiet street, although very central in Copacabana. The staff are very friendly and forthcoming, with a very service-minded and flexible attitude. The breakfast was nice, and my 7-night stay was comfortable and without concerns.

The hotel is good. a good of variety in the breakfast, good location for the hotel. the room was a bit small with 2 suitcases. the main upset from this hotel was when we choose to book activities from the front desk. prices were much higher (even when you consider that you have to pay a bit more when you book from the hotel) and twice the evening tour […] was canceled/delayed only few hours before puck up, so we wasted time and had to change plans. maybe they work with bad agencies or they forgot to make the call. we also get the filling that they lie to us. not appropriate for this kind of hotel. Rio was a great surprise for me I didn´t know what to expect, but if you are looking for a place to sleep, well located and reasonable cheap, this hotel will cover your basic needs. Is clean, and has everything you need.

O pessoal do hotel foi excelente. O primeiro quarto que me deram estava com muito cheiro de mofo e quando eu telefonei para a recepcao ele veio em poucos minutos e me trocou pra um outro quarto que nao tinha nem um cheiro de mofo. Atendimento nota dez!

Estive somente por 1 diária mas considerei o hotel muito bom para o padrão 3 estrelas do rio, recepção bonita e pessoal atencioso conosco, quarto limpo, café da manhã gostoso com variedade e tudo fresquinho, a piscina não é muito grande mas pra quem esta no rio a passeio isso é o de menos, quanto a localização ele não é tão perto da praia da quase 3 […] quadras mas da pra ir caminhando tranquilamente sem cansar, vale o custo x benefício dele , pois já estive no rio em outros hotéis e o astória não perde quase em nada pra outros de maior valor no padrão 3 estrelas . Poolen, som var ett vilkor då vi bokade, var en besvikelse. 3.9m x 6.3m. - snacka om vidvinkel på kameran. Gymet på bilderna var ersatt att 3 maskiner och 15 hantlar. Ok frukost Ok personal Rummen saknar helt ljudisolering så du hör allt på rummen intill och en hiss som "piper" varje gång någon går in/ut ut den.
