RED VICTORIAN INN - San Francisco

The personnel at the front desk lacked the abilities to solve a yes-or-no question without the assistance of the general manager, whom was very unprofessional and downright rude when it came to fixing a problem. Parking was non-exsistant.

If you've never visited the Haight-Ashbury region of San Francisco, then boy are you in for a treat! The Red Victorian Inn sums up what you'd expect from the fun loving, environmentally conscious district. Each room is decorated differently, in a style that could only be referred to as funky eclectic... and is surrounded by stores, bars and restaurants […] that share the motif. If you are looking for a five star hotel with room service, then this is not the place for you. But if you are looking for a comfortable place to stay, with friendly staff, decent comfort and a funky atmosphere, then you should give this place a try. There are several shared bathrooms... each with a different theme. One in particular has a fish tank as part of the water reservoir... very cool. I was initially a little concerned about the shared bathroom situation, but it actually wasn't a problem at all. The bar, restaurant and shopping scene is also vibrant, but in it's own way. What I like most about the inn is how close it is to the GG park, and Buena Vista park (with quite possibly the best view of the city...) there's live music, dance clubs, punch bars, and even a comedy club in crawling distance from the inn! I was looking for a random weekend getaway where i could immerse myself in a district of SF, and really experience all it had to offer... starting and ending with the inn, I think I got the full effect. I am looking forward to going back and trying out one of the different rooms... Maybe the sunshine room or the japanese tea garden room...? One caution I would give would be to parents of young children... If you have kids in tow, you may want to bring ear plugs. Det var ok att dela badrum, men duschen var ganska obekväm med en hård duschstråle från ett fast monterat lågt placerat munstycke. Rummet var ok, hela hotellet var väldigt mycket flower power vilket var en kul och rolig upplevelse. Ingen hiss och lite "primitivt" men en trevlig atmosfär. Bra läge, nära Golden Gate Park och Castro. En bit ifrån Union […] Square och Bay area men för mig som gillar att promenera funkade även det. Testade inte bussar men de skall tydligen funka bra.
