The hotel was not what I expected. Room only had one window that did not open. There was also NO maid service and for the money that I paid for the stay this was outrageous. It was a rainy weekend and no outside pool at this hotel. The indoor pool had a very strong smell from it and there was SCUM floating on top of the water. For the money this place […] is NOT worth it. Could have stayed on the oceanfront with a room with a balcony and ocean view for less money. As they say live and learn. When I originally booked the hotel, I booked two duel queen bed rooms and requested the rooms be apart. When I got there we had two rooms right next to each other, with a single queen bed and a pullout couch. I asked the front desk about it and they said the second queen is the pull out couch. I was a little upset about this, but figured the kids could […] sleep on the pull out and all would be fine. Then when I looked at the bathrooms it seemed they didn't clean them very well, the toilet still had nastiness on it. The arcade room was awesome for the kids and the pool was very nice. The Italian place that is I the hotel has great ice cream and pizza, everything else stay away from I think it was the worse fettichini I have ever had in my life and there marinara sauce is flavorless. Fair Warning; this is not a hotel; it is a "resort" which means it's primary function is as a "time-share" resort. From a practical standpoint, this means no daily housekeeping; you need to exchange towels, etc, at a designated location, and a couple of other small differences. If you can get past that; the added amenities such as full kitchenette, […] largish refrigerator, fully set tables with china and glassware, etc. more than compensate; at least for me personally. Very nice televisions in each room, nice balcony with chairs, pull out couch. I was in Virginia Beach for business; but would definitely stay here for vacation. It is on the extreme south end of the beach, which is a bit quieter than further north, such as near the Neptune statue; so keep that in mind. We were very happy with our stay at Ocean Key. We felt we got a lot for our money and it was very comfortable. It was quiet and very clean. The staff was very helpful. The only issue was the parking lot, it was a little difficult getting in and out of spots when the lot was full, the spaces were really close. Over all a great weekend get away.

My wife and I arrived about 11am for check-in realizing we're only about four hours early. Staff suggested we use the pool/hot tub, etc while they got the room ready. Very happy that we were able to check in about 1pm. I reserved, what I thought from Expedia, an oceanfront room. However, upon arriving I was told by staff that third party booking agency […] can't guarantee anything and so I was not put in an ocean front room-disappointing. Room had a slight smell to it. Unfortunately the windows don't open and we had no balcony, so the air becomes pretty stale. You'll need to leave your room for any fresh air. We found the pool and hot tub placed in the lobby a little strange. It's a little awkward being in bathing suits while others are roaming around the lobby fully clothed looking in on you. The fitness center was pretty light with equipment, but it sufficed for vacation. They told me they're getting new equipment within the year. Kitchen area very tiny, but adequate for my wife and I. We enjoyed our stay there but don't think we'd go back. Instead would much prefer a room that has a balcony and at least a window that opens for fresh air. Đọc thêm

Great location and nice staff. Kitchen was quite small but well equipped and 2 bug screen TVs were great. Nice big bathroom, however, king bed had mattress that needed to be replaced--overall it was fine and we enjoyed our stay

Our recent stay at Ocean Key Resort overall was good. When we walked in everything looked so clean and organized. I liked the size of space and convenience to the beach and everything. There were few things that I did not like. The darness in the room. Only one small window in the bedroom. The carpets were dirty and filty. My one year old was constantly […] on the floor and his skin was so dirty. The carpets need to be washed immediatelly. Laundry room had no a/c and it felt like you could pass out with the heat. Nice hotel overall i would recommend it. We had a small issue with our room we booked a 2 bedroom suite and got 2 seperate rooms. After some complaining to management we moved to a 2 bedroom suite the next day. We were glad we moved it made for a better trip.

i was to have a two bedroom condo...i also requested oceanview with a balcony months ago....what i got was two 1 bedroom condos with a bypass. No balcony and no oceanview. It was ok clean but i would not recommend it....I was disappointed but enjoyed myself none the less

My wife and I came down for a week and I found the room to be very nice with only one problem, in the 7 days that we stayed housekeeping never came to the room once. You have to take out your own trash and strip the bed and take towels to the 3rd floor for exchange and the remake the bed.... I do that at home. Did not want to leave. Hotel had everything you needed down to every cooking gadgets you would need.Bathroom had shampoo soap blow dryer iron.Bed as comfortable and sheets and pillows were amazing. We had 5 of us and comfortable fit.game room was nice and pool was 85 which was great.Restaurant right on site serving breakfast lunch dinner icecream alcohol […] all till 2am on weekends and 12 during week.with free room service. It was walking distance to everything right near beach you could see from front door. Downside our room didn't have patio and was more a night. The map located this "resort" on the beach. It was not. I paid beach front prices for a room not on the beach. I ciould have stayed for 1/3 the price the same distance from the beach.

Overall we were very happy with this hotel. The location was perfect for us especially for the price. One block off the boardwalk is much cheaper than on the boardwalk. At the south end of the boardwalk near restaraunts (Waterman's-excellent), Rudees Inlet where we rode the Rudee Rocket and took a sail boat tour with Iggy Biggy, and perfect access to […] the beach. Just out of the hustle bustle of Atlantic Ave. We were on the 9th floor facing the beach and the view on the balcony was awesome. There are no hotels between you and the ocean front (Waterman's restaraunt is between Ocean Key and the beach and it's only 1 story). The only thing that we had a small issue with was our room was not serviced at all during our stay. We had to take our linens to the forth floor for exchange. We ended up at this hotel after our first hotel reservation did not work out. The hotel staff was amazing from the moment we checked in! Our room was very nice and it had everything we could imagine needing. Various staff made sure the children knew about movie night and that there was fresh popcorn. They even took us to show us where to go and got […] popcorn for us. When we wanted suggestions about area attractions/dining, the staff made great suggestions and gave us directions and even printed up menus for us. Being able to dine right in the hotel was wonderful as well. The food there was great and the hours were even better. The pool area is small but very clean and comfortable. We can't wait to return! Very noisy hallways, running and shouting late at night. The safe in our room had to be repaired 2 times, very inconvenient. There was an old patch of mold in corner of bathroom. Very soft mattress.

I thought the staff could have been more accomodating. The front desk was borderline rude. The person who called us to confirm our check out date was extremely short and rude. I wouldn't stay here again.

We've stayed at a lot of different hotels on VA Beach and found this one to be amongst the best. The indoor pool was great for the kids and the fact that the room had a sitting area separated from the bedroom by a door gave us the ability to put the kids to bed and still enjoy some TV in privacy. Stayed with my husband and 2 young children in a 1 bedroom. The room was definitely small but OK. The location was great. We stayed for 4 days and didn't have to move our car once. One block from the beach and within walking distance of several great restaurants, including the pizza joint in the lobby.

The recent renovations at this hotel show very nicely! Our room was awesome - there was a small sitting area and a galley kitchen that led back to a good sized bedroom. The linens were plush and comfy and everything was very clean! The service was a bit iffy but I didn't need to interact with them often so that was okay. At check-in, we were shown to our room by a concierge. We requested a room with a balcony, overlooking the Atlantic. Instead, we were given a room overlooking the Pacific...avenue, that is. The concierge actually leaned out over the rail and said, "If you look in that direction, you can see the bay"... The room itself was spacious, but the air conditioner […] did not work. In fact, we called the front desk asking about it, and were told it would be handled - it wasn't. Let's talk about the bathroom. Who's brilliant idea was it to put a mirror on the door facing the toilet? Does anybody want to see themselves "doing their business?" I sure don't. The next day, we left for a tour of the Naval Base. When we returned to our room, we found that the room hadn't been made up. When we called the desk, we were told that "they don't do that", but if we wanted, we could bring our towels and bedsheets down to them for an exchange. Isn't having your bed made one of the reasons you GO to a hotel? We didn't think we'd be camping! Let's talk about the pool, the beachgoers used to wash the sand off their bodies. There are several rules posted, but nobody to enforce them. As such, people were jumping into the pool, diving off the sides, and making a racket. I won't comment on the smell. We decided to cut our stay short, and checked out Sunday afternoon as opposed to Monday morning, preferring a 9 hour drive to another night in this place. We'll be coming back to Va Beach, but will NEVER set foot in this version of the Bates Motel again! Đọc thêm

We had an excellent time at Ocean Key Resort! The pool was excellent, it was so close to the beach without having to deal with all the noise and commotion on the boardwalk.
