I came to The Renaissance Hotel to just get away by myself and relax. I enjoy going to hotels to get some peace and this has been by far the best overnight stay I have ever had. I am still giddy over it. From the gym access to the on site restaurant. It has been great. The spa was a bit pricey though.

This is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at, and my family and I travel quite a lot. The staff was utterly incredible! From the moment we arrived, they went out of their way to make us feel special. Our greeting by the doorman was "Welcome home!" accompanied big a big smile. Very attractive hotel, modern and very clean from the lobby to rooms, etc. My only surprise came when I discovered there is absolutely no parking apart from the $19.00 per night valet. They said something about self parking but there was no access but rather the valet. You need to figure that into the cost of the hotel, of course. Reserved a room for this hotel based upon previous reviews. They were right as this is a fabulous, clean, friendly hotel with all the amenities you could ask for. The free shuttle was great transporting us to the nearby shopping areas. We are planning on making this an annual event and will stay here again.

Everything except parking policy is fine. Only Valet Parking is inconvenient for short trip to near hotel. Other than that it was fine.

Very nice room, clean and comfortable. The best feature of the facility is the sports/health club with access included in the price of the room. Desk staff is a bit lacking on weekends if comparing it to a traditional hotel, but we got by. Parking was free if you park on the club sport side and walk upstairs. The room was comfortable and more importantly the bed was comfortable. I loved the heated outdoor pools and being able to walk right into the gym.

I have stayed here before and love it. Not a lot in the immediate neighborhood but it is cwalking distance to the Bay Area Rapid Transit system.I want to drive it is convienent to 2 freeways and withing 30 minutes of the Oakland Airport. Amenities are wonderful.....

If swimming and/or working out are something you like to prioritize on vacations, it's hard to beat this hotel. Three pools and a large gym facility, including squash courts, a basketball court, scheduled group classes, etc... My main complaint was at one point I got a strong smell of cigarette smoke in the room, presumably from the fan. The other is […] the location; it's a half hour drive to SF (traffic permitting) and almost an hour on Bart (though Bart is conveniently a block away). Still, those are minor. Location great. Right near where my daugher lives. We were visiting her and her husband. We are from Massachusetts. When I was searching for a hotel in the area you were the only hotel that did not allow pets. My husband is very allergic to dogs and cats and is asthmatic. In town for two day swim meet. Ejoyed the hotel and the health club attached was fantastic. Very pleased with our stay.

When my wife and I arrived, one valet was nice enough to let us keep our car in the front until I verify our reservation. However, another valet gave my wife a rude "move that car." My wife was so embarrassed that she left me at the hotel. She was so embarrassed by the valet, that she got lost in the city neighborhood. When she got back to me, she was […] crying hysterically and wanted us to go back home in Southern California and leave my niece's graduation date. I was going to cancel our hotel with them when she mentioned that it was nonrefundable. I wasn't happy when I first pulled in. This is the first negative for this hotel. Next, the navigator checkin person name sandra gave me a look of what are you doing in this hotel. The other navigator man told me that there were no parking charges per night, yet the final bill mentioned a charge of $19 a night. I don't appreciate being lied to by the hotel. That tip cost me for them to open and close our truck door. None of the valets offered to help with our 7 bags of luggage to unload or load into the car. We tipped our house maid every day $5. He/she didn't leave any notes for us to write more requests if any. They didn't change the bed at all since my wife's hair was still under the sheets. Perfect location if doing business in Walnut Creek. Gym facilities are excellent. Food, while not fancy, is delicious and well priced. Rooms are quiet, clean, beautifully appointed.

My stay was a simple mother daughter weekend getaway. From valet to checkin we were beyond impressed with friendliness and the way you were made to feel appreciated for staying there. Spa was nice. This place is a good place for staying if you're visiting Napa Valley and have a designated driver. You'll pay the same or half of what you will in Napa and get at least as good a place if not twice as good of a place. The fitness facilities and pool are amazing and free for you when you stay. Very nice hotel, great location. Access to Club Sport as part of the hotel room was a highlight. I belong to an upscale Gym, but it is not close to how nice this Gym was. Huge, excellent equipment, clean, pleanty of space. I give the Gym 5 Stars

I had a great time here..... 1) Every staff mmber I encountered was helpful, genuinely nice, and friendly. I had no service issues...except housekeeping dropping my bodywash while cleaning and it cracked--but what am I going to do? 2) The weather was nice and the location was good--close to public transportation, near the freeway, in a good neighborhood, […] etc. 3) The room was neat/clean, well maintained, quiet, asthetically modern, up to date (flat screen LCD tvs, free wireless, cordless phone, clock/MP3 dock) 4) the food...not your typical hotel food--it was great and healthy!! 5) my only thing...the main part of the fitness facility (that being the workout floor with the machines) was really just an oversized hotel gym...nothing special and too many kids running rampant throughout seemed unsafe and annoying.
