RELAIS VIGNALE - Radda in Chianti

The hotel was very nice with quaint antique charm, shutters, wood beams, antique paintings, but very well maintained. We couldn't decide if it was an expertly renovated historic building or a new building designed to look old. The view out of our window of the valley was lovely and very peaceful. We booked a double room but they gave us a family room […] so we had a second bedroom which we used as a living room. The staff was very friendly, though there was one receptionist who had bit of a chip on her shoulder. Breakfast was tasty and had a lot of variety. It was rainy 2 of the days we were there so we ate in the cavernous basement, the other days it was sunny and breakfast was served on the patio which is the perfect way to wake up. Radda is a typically charming Chianti hill town with souvenir shops, a few good restaurants (we highly recommend La Péghera di Baccio). My only complaints where that the wireless internet only worked in the common areas and you had to ask reception for a 2 hour password to use it. However there were many charmingly decorated, cozy common rooms including the patio so we didn't suffer too much. Also the pool was repeatedly described as "heated" which it definitely was not so we never got to go swimming. We had platy else to enjoy though. Đọc thêm

Very nice hotel with great views to the vineyards below - especially from the pool and breakfast restaurant. The room was comfortable. Radda was a wonderful place to walk around and had several decent restaurants to try.

After spending 3 weeks in Europe and deciding what our favorite place to stay, this has got to be one of the highlights. The city of Radda in Chianti was stunning. It's on a picturesque hill in the middle of Tuscany and their are views from all sides. The restaurants are fantastic and the gelato was delicious. This is a perfect hotel for a weekend getaway […] or for some downtime from all of the "touristy/museums/walking" in your vacation. We rented a car from Rome, drove here and then drove into Florence. We needed the weekend break from the city and we got it here. We were there over my birthday and they left a bottle of wine in our room for us. A very special touch. The room wasn't completely updated, but it felt super rustic and it was very clean. It overlooked the hills of Tuscany on this beautiful balcony. The main hotel, across the street, had the restaurant, pool and FREE wifi! The pool was awesome, because of the views and you could tell that most of the hotel guests came there to relax at the pool, drink incredible wine and have a nice quiet getaway. There were a few children there, but it was mostly couples (generally older), but I didn't feel out of place (we are in our mid-30's). I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it. The Relais Vignale is a great place to relax - it has charming rooms with great views, and the food in Radda was great. There were 3 or 4 great choices of places to eat. The only challenge was getting our bags to/from the rooms - a lot of steps to navigate! So, not a great place for the physically challenged. Aside from that, it was great.

Radda is beautiful also, an ancient walled town and right in the middle of Chianti so it's a great base for the rest of Tuscany. We stayed here on our first "leg" of our vacation and then headed to another part of Italy where we did not like. RV was more than happy to take us back and give us a bigger room with a complimentary bottle of wine. Thanks RV for your hospitality we would go back again! Cheers!

The Relais Vignale is a lovely little hotel and an ideal base for exploring the Chianti region. Do not expect gold-plated-tap luxury but the hotel has bags of charm by way of compensation. Our room was a good size, comfortably furnished and with a delightful view over the vineyards and hills at the back of the hotel. Train takes about 40 minutes (fast one). Siena only an hour's drive away. Generally great location for visiting towns/villages/vineyards, and lovely view from the restaurant and pool down a valley. Radda itself is a lovely little place, quieter than neighbouring Castellina which we'd recommend visiting. Some good restaurants in Radda. Bar Dante (which is a small restaurant, not bar) just across the road is excellent for meals/drinks at a good price. Cash machine 30 seconds from hotel front door, as is a good general food store and a few chemists (pharmacies). These chemists also all stock small ranges of gluten-free food. All in all, great! My boyfriend and I stayed here for 4 nights. We had stayed at a really nice 4 star hotel in Bibbona so our expectations were high. First of all I think we were unlucky with the room. We had booked a superior double room. The first room we got a key to was already occupied (you can imagine our surprise)!!! The next room we got was in the annex (across […] the street from the main building). The room had an extra bedroom which was totally useless for us. I would prefer a room with a sitting area. The bathroom standard was pretty poor. The word "Superior" means that the room has a view over the fields and not towards the street. However our room was way at the bottom of the annex which made it really dark. The room we had, and especially the bathroom could need a make-over. The breakfast buffet was large and to some extent ok. It was a shame however that they did not have more fresh fruit being in Italy, there was fruit but it was not very fresh. They offered two types of musli, one with fruit and one with chocolate. However both boxes were with chocolate even though the text said it was fruit. One day we came down to breakfast a bit later (at 10.00, breakfast ended at 10.30) and the fruit, bread and yoghurts were almost empty. Compared to the breakfast buffets we had at the 3 other hotels we stayed at during our trip this was the least Italian one, felt much more German. The hotel had an nice pool area with a great view of the area. Internet was only available in the area outside the reception. In general it felt as if the hotel was on auto-pilot, meaning that they delivered just what was necessary and not the little extra which one expects from a 4 star hotel. Đọc thêm
