Hotel Sven Vintappare was lovely - very sweet and special hotel in Gamla stan, on a tiny and quiet side road. Our room was maybe the smallest up the spiral staircase, but still very chic. Lovely little hotel, very well maintained, lovely area in the heart of Gamla Stan. Only negative is a double bed would be better than two twins.

The sloping floors are rather fun, though I wouldn't advise it for anyone who finds stairs difficult. Very roomy for such a central location. Staff very helpful.

After walking many miles all of the city of Stockholm, Gemla Stan is by far the best place to stay and Sven Vintappare is by far the best hotel there. We loved everything about this place. The only slight draw back was the internet was very slow, and there are not phones in the room, so contacting family back home was difficult. Other than that, it was amazing.

We loved the atmosphere and the fact that so much of this 1607 building has been retained while incorporating modern conveniences. A wonderful place to stay while soaking up the old town of Stockholm as well as being close to the newer areas of interest.

this hotel is very charming and the staff could not have been more helpful but it has serious problems for middle aged and older travelers - the stairs to the three floors of rooms (floors two through four) are uneven and EXTREMELY steep, doorways are very low (bumped heads more than once -each of us) in one review on another site the travelers checked […] out after one night despite pre paying- we didn't have that luxury and hiked up the three steep flights of steps for the four nights we were there- that said- if you are young and agile the location is fabulous - in Gamla Stan and near the t-bana for easy transportation. The best thing about this hotel is the location, right in the heart of the old quarter of Stockholm and a shot walk form the Royal Palace. I shared a double room with a friend and it was very pretty with pine floors, white walls, cushy chairs, very comfortable beds, and a tiny but modern bathroom. Do enjoy the 400 year old room that's spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated. Don't expect a full nights sleep as you are perfectly located in the centre of Gamla Stan and all cities are noisy. Do sample Hermitage vegetarian restaurant 30 seconds walk away, as a non veggie I was delighted at the quality and variety for only £10 a meal. Don't expect […] to have much currency left after your break Sweden is expensive. Do visit the Vasa museum (early to avoid the queues). This is such a unique hotel visit--you really are staying in a bit of history. Positives: Wonderful location in old town, nice and accommodating staff, clean, charming and affordable. If you want to experience the charm of the old city in Stockholm, this hotel could be for you. Much easier if you are travelling light though - it's hard to get big suitcases up the stairs. While the room was lovely, light and spacious, the bathroom was tiny (fully functional though). We loved it.

The building was built in 1607. Lots of character. Bathroom was recently upgraded. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Staff was very helpful when I called for a late check in. Breakfast was more than adequate. Great location for exploring Gamla Stan neighborhood.

We found the hotel to be exactly as described--small, quaint (400 year-old building!), charming and in a great location. We were upgraded to the suite, which was great, but it also meant climbing 57 steps up a tight spiral staircase to reach our rooms! (Fortunately, we were able to leave our larger suitcases downstairs and live out of our overnight […] cases.) The service was minimal but sufficient; the one staff person we met was very helpful and friendly. The location can get a little noisy--people like to party into the wee hours in the summer, and the soundproofing isn't great, but we still had no trouble sleeping. All-in-all, a great experience! Probably the most charming hotel room I've stayed in. Full of character, beautiful decor, comfortable and quiet (despite the city centre location). It might not be to everyone's taste to have no staff on site after 6pm, or the steep staircases, but in 13 visits to Stockholm, this little hotel has left me impressed more than any other.

Lite lyhört om det är stökigt på gatan utanför. Mysigt rum i ett hus som lutar ganska mycket. Lite för varma täcken men det är det nästan på alla hotell.

Vi har bodd der før, og kommer igjen, og igjen! Det finnes ikke en rett vinkel, og trappene er bratte og smale inntil det absurde, men huset fra 1600 tallet er tatt vare på med kjærlighet og atmosfæren er unik.

Sehr angenehm , Hotel liegt sehr gut, das Frühstück ist ausgezeichnet, Zimmer und Bad sehr sauber, sollten wir nochmals nach Stockhom fahren, steigen wir ganz sicher wieder hier ab.

Hotellet ligger sentralt i Gamla Stan, men må nok kunne sies å være for spesielt interesserte. Døgnprisen står ikke i forhold til hverken fasiliteter eller standard, den reflekterer egentlig bare at dette er noe spesielt og utenom det vanlige. Vi opplevde å komme til et avlåst hotell med slukkede lys og kun et telefonnummer i vinduet som kunne kontaktes […] ved behov. Dette til tross for at vi på forhånd hadde ringt og meldt fra om flyforsinkelse, og fått til svar at det var ingen problem. Dette er et lite hotell med noen få rom. Vi fikk verdens beste service fra det hyggelige personalet. Hotellet har en liten cafe med komplett frokostbuffet. Vi var imponerte. Rommet hadde en liten dør og skjevt gulv (bygningen er fra tidlig 1600 tallet). Badet var helt oppusset og fint. Sengen den beste vi har prøvd noensinne. Beliggenheten midt i Gamla […] Stan er nært gode restauranter (spesiellt en Argentinsk like rundt hjørnet som serverer kjempegode biffer). Ikke nattklubber, så det er stille om kvelden. Utrolig sjarmerende hotell med koselig betjening. Var skjeve gulv og veldig bratt trapp - men det føltes helt riktig! Rolig beliggenhet i Gamla stan og sentralt. Veldig gode senger og god frokost.

Selv om vi ankom sent og ikke havde meget tid var vores ophold super. Hotellet ligger i en gammel del af Stockholm og er super hyggeligt. Der var ikke noget at sætte fingre på. Børnene var dog lidt skæptisk over at ting ikke så nyt ud, med skæve vinduer og synlige bjælker, men det var bare med til at skabe stemning.

Perfekt läge och en personlig service.I Hotels.com beskrivning står dock att rummen har balkong/uteplats vilket inte finns. Ett hotell att mysa på en natt men kanske inte någon längre tid. Personalen var dock mycket trevlig och sängar etc fanns inget att anmärka på i detta 400 års gamla hotell.

En fin opplevelse av å bo på et 400 år gammelt hotell. Sjarmerende skjeve rom og vinduer, men likevel bekvemt og trivelig. Rent og pent. Kommer til å benytte hotellet ved senere anledning.

Det var utmärkt. Kan jag bara rekommenderar för alla som tycker om att bo i ett ny renoverat (2004) fint 400 år gamla hus :) Personalen var jätte trevlig och har hjälp oss med sista minut ändringarna...

Perfekt....centralare läge än exakt mitt i stockholms gamla stan kan man ej hamna,,,25 meter till sveriges största turistfälla(gamla stan).

Gulvene er pilskæve og man skal dukke sig for at komme på badeværelset - med andre ord et superhyggeligt og romantisk hotel. Morgenmaden i cafeen er god og med en beliggenhed lige midt i Gamla Stan er det et godt valg.

Väldigt trevlig och hjälpsam personal. God stämning och ett fantastiskt fint hus. Tyvärr lite för trångt för min smak. Smala trånga trappor och lite kallt inne i vinterkylan.
