I have stayed here twice and each time I find more about it that I really don't like. Sure the price is good, especially when you consider the cost of food and lift tickets for four people, the cost of this hotel seems down right cheap. And it is. I know you get what you pay for, but I do expect some level of service, and a level of function of the […] property, even on a less expensive one. On my first stay, because the mountains all close at the same time, there was a small rush of people checking in at the same time. The desk lady shouted for everyone to wait outside (in the snow storm) until it was their turn to check in because she could hear herself think. Finally after freezing in the weather, we got to our room. It smelled of wet dog, bad cleaner and cigarettes, had mold in the shower, a dirty towel behind the bathroom door and drywall particles on the floor. We left and came back about 9:00, only to find the bedside lamp didn't have a light bulb. I called the front desk to ask if one could be brought up, and the same desk lady shouted back into the phone that she was the only one one the property and I would have to come get it. I demanded it be brought up to the room and about 10 minutes later, a man showed up with a bulb. (only one here...?) During the night, the very loud heater did ok at keeping the chill off, but the noise wasn't worth it. My husband and I later decided the shower was cooler than we had wanted, but it did ok at washing the day off. My second stay- The same lady behind the desk was a bit more pleasant but not by much. Our room had that same old cheap cleaner and cigarette smell, mold in the bathroom, bad dust over the entire room, was un-vacuumed and had non functional window blinds. The heater was the same as last time, did ok with the chill but was so loud that it wasn't worth having on. 2 of the three of us took very short, very cold showers. It is a older motel, but at the end of the day, it is clean and the hot shower was the best.

We needed a place to stay before snowboarding, and for the price and location, it was good. I'd go back. Simple, nothing extravagant.

Neighbor room(4 MORE PEOPLE?) was making BIG NOISE 2 HOURS DURING SLEEP TIME OF 2:00AM~4:00AM WITHOUT WARNING.

You get what you pay for. It is not well maintained, beds are not the most comfortable, but it is cheap, well located, with big rooms, and definitely good enough for us . I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy Tahoe for cheap monay.

The place is very mediocre, but the beds are comfortable. The locks looked weak, so my sense of security there was very low. The was a smell in the hallway but thankfully not in the room. This hotel was one of the sketchiest I've ever stayed in. That's not to say that I wouldn't come back but you just have to know ahead of time that it's not a swanky establishment. If there were negative numbers for ratings, then I would have used them. If it wasn't for the location near the ski resorts, then I would have never chose the hotel. Disgusting hotel. Wallpaper & paint falling off the wall, missing room numbers on door, & towel rack laying on the floor for all 3 days of the stay. I book two rooms and stayed there for one night and that was the longest night of my life. Really uncomfortable bed, stained and smelly pillows. The heater was not working well, one room was getting superhot, and the other room was uncomfortably cold. The heater was making very loud noise.. This is the worst hotel I've ever booked! I didn't bother reading the ratings, but I definitely should have. I've never seen such a disgusting room before! I'm shocked that hotels.com would put this hotel on their list. This hotel seriously looked like a drug deal gone bad! DISGUSTING!

This hotel was very misleading on the internet. The picture on the internet was truly the only decent thing about this hotel. After walking into the office I was immediately shocked by the filth. Rugs were stained and stunk. There was men sitting right outside the office smoking n loitering. This was the first clue. The room I paid for was gross, rugs […] were filthly, walking down the hall to get to the room had dirty walls, nasty carpet and it truly looked and smelled like a place where only prostitutes take their Johns! We had very bad experience with this hotel. Everything in there was in bad condition. Once shower came out and flooded the room, and god forbid it was cold water else I would have been in emergency been it hot water. We were told someone will fix that in the morning 7 AM. No body turned up till 11AM and we had to go out. We missed the bath. Very bad […] experience. Looks like Carpet was not cleaned for ages. Stains and spots all over the place, you don't feel like walking over it. Staff was too bad, they were not friendly at all. Clean room, comfy beds, but we were on the lower floor and there was a family with kids above us. These kids didnt want to sleep at all, so neither did we. get an upstairs room

This place is awful. It is noisy, dirty & in a general state of dis-repair. I doubt anyone could be comfortable in this environment ! We foun a much cleaner place for just a fw dollars more right down the street ....BE AWARE

well worn "inn"/inexpensive/good for price point/

The bathroom is the worst maintained -- spiders and webs and dirty. Good hot water. The TV is not in good condition - basically it did not work The lady in the frontdesk is of the opinion that Amanda with whom we book the hotel cannot promise any earlier time to check in without consulting her or someone there. Our first night there was a Saturday and the surrounding area and parking lot was very noisy most of the night, other than that night, the area was very quiet. We were expecting to see a very unkempt room as that is what we read in the other reviews. It was nicer than I was expecting. Very large room with large storage closet. Needs updating,, carpets worn, bathroom fixtures rusty, mattress very old and saggy. Our room faced the street, and since it was a warm night and there is no air conditioning, we had to sleep with the sliding door open, and it was very noisy.

This was one of the worse motels I have ever stayed at. It had rust all over the bathroom, stains on the carpet, walls, and furniture. There was also cracker crumbs on the bed. Older hotel/motel and shows some wear and tear but a great place to get out of the weather, warm up and shower in the morning before going on your way. Towels are clean but very rough. Room clean but an older decor. But everything in the room works. Recommended for the budget concious person looking for a simple place to stay the night.

Even though it is affordable, it was a very dirty room. The bathroom floor had long brown hair everywhere and the carpet in the room was not only old and worn but very very dirty and disgusting.

Worst hotel ever we will not ever stay there agian. They said they had a/c but really it was an old portable fan,the tv didn't even work, the room was dirty including the bathroom they whole place was just poorly maintained and for that price it's a rip off I wanted to get my money back the first night

This was the most disgusting place I have ever stayed at. The pictures are nothing like the real thing. The carpet was so gross I could not take my sandals off. Older place, needs major overhaul. Worn, dirty carpeting, old small TV in room, toilet did not work very well, no hair dryer in bath area. Uncomfortable bed, no extra pillows. Sliding screen torn. Just a place to crash overnight, won't stay there again.

I had to book this hotel in the last minute and we are group of 4 people. I was finding other hotels are expensive for 4 people. This hotel has 2 queen bed patio room which perfectly suited for our need and it is cheaper than other options. for its price and reviews i didnt expect much from this room as our stay for only one night. This hotel had some serious water damage. Pretty sure there was mold growing on the linoleum flooring in the bathroom. The ceilings were water stained, the walls were stained, even the hanging lamp above the room table had water stains. if there was a door, it probably didn't open or close properly. The shower head and velocity of water was more like […] a fire hose, and most of the plugs in the room were not grounded (there was one grounded plug in the bathroom - only place to plug in my computer.) Their saving grace? Decent and free wifi, clean beds (mattresses looked new -- they probably had to replace them because of water damage), and it's situated in an amazing area. Tahoe is a beautiful place, and this Inn was a stone's throw from the water, and two relatively small, but somewhat popular, casinos. I think if I head back to the Tahoe area any time soon, I'll pony up some extra cash and choose a different place to stay. This place has great potential, but I don't think much of the money goes back into the hotel... which is unfortunate. So this hotel is a super good deal (almost as cheap as camping). And, as you would expect, it's minimalist and a little divey. But, It's a clean bed and a pleasant room. The neighborhood is fine. If you're looking to save money, it's a great deal and a pleasant enough experience.

Not a bad place to stay if you're looking for somewhat of a budget accommodation. The furniture, rooms, and buildings are all pretty dated, and the walls are paper thin, but there's plenty of parking, it's in a good area right on the California/Nevada border and the heaters in the room work well.

There are some real whiners on here but here's the truth, you get what you pay for!! This hotel is cheap, yes, but if you need a place to stay for a night or two, Tahoe Inn provides what you need at a very affordable price. The best thing about this place, is the size of the rooms! They are HUGE compared to any other cheapo hotel. Your average 1 bed […] hotel room usually gives you a couple feet on each side of the bed, and maybe 3-4 feet at the bottom. The rooms here are much bigger and have plenty of space for all your stuff. Better yet, if you're a big group going snowboarding or skiing, you can easily fit 6-8 people or more with all your gear in this room, and since it's already insanely cheap, can you say '8-way split?" Talk about savings for the young crowd strapped for cash... Drivers get the beds and everyone else drunk on the floor with sleeping bags, it's a win-win for all! My biggest complaint would have to be that if you get a 1st floor room, you're screwed for noise coming from the people above you if there are any. This place was definitely built with the bare minimum of materials between the walls, floors and ceilings but for the snow crowd, this shouldn't matter. You'll be wiped out from riding slopes anyway and should pass out easily no matter how noisy. Other than that, this place is an awesome place to crash. They offer free wireless internet which is cool (and they have 2 wireless access points to cover the entire area, so if one signal is weak, the second will likely be stronger for you). Also, if you're planning on bringing any gaming devices, computers, etc...the wall plugs here do not have a ground pin, so you'll need an adapter if you plan to use those. Clean and comfortable, and the staff are very friendly, little noisy at night from other rooms but nothing to worry about unless your a very light sleeper. Room was very spacious and really if you are there for skiing in North star the location is very good. Exactly what you would expect for the price.
