Hotels.com pricing had me believe we were getting an expensive room at a bargain price. I should have remembered the, ‘if it seems to good to be true, it is too good to be true’ adage. Don’t be fooled into thinking this is a luxury ‘boutique’ country house hotel. It’s not. It is a huge wedding and conference venue. The room we were allocated was in […] a ‘new’ wing. It was spotlessly clean but small with thin walls so we could hear every one talking around us & often felt the people in the room above were going to put in a surprise appearance. It was perfectly adequate for our purposes, in a lovely location but not at all what I was expecting. Given the location & proximity to London I suppose the price we paid was ‘fair’ but nothing more. Lovely hotel in beautiful location, not too easy to find, but once you have been returning is easy. For the rate paid excellent value and frequently stay there.

Hotel is lovely overall. My room was spacious and clean and very comfy bed. Gym is tiny but does have a few machines to use, pool area is clean and generous in size. Grounds are beautiful and generally the Hotel is peacful and quiet. The staff were friendly apart from the lady on Breakfast duty ..who may have been having a bad day ! Has a nice pool and sauna and a small gym, countryside location so nothing local. Didn't use bar so comment on food or drink. For the cheap price I paid from hotels.com it was good, wouldn't pay full prices though

Minor observation (not a complaint) in that the restaurant menu was not very imaginative and some of the staff were quite young and not up to speed. Unfortunately although I was unable to make full use of them, the amenities were excellent. The views from the hotel are stunning and the old part of the hotel is well worth the visit itself.

Excellent as always my prefered location when in this part of the country. cheaper than a Premier Inn if you can get a deal.

Not bad value at all I paid £39 for my stay and feel that they could charge a lot more if standards were kept abit higher! Extra care must be given to cleaning as these are old buildings and although very clean ad comfortable in general, there where certain areas that required abit of attention. Still overall not bad for £39!

We paid less than £50 for the room. Great value. It is a conference hotel, but the views and old house make it above the norm.

Room very clean and comfy bed but no toiletries in bathroom so remember to take your own soap!! Very quiet location - room in a seperate building from bar and restaurant so long walk for food. Hotel used as a conference centre so busy but not a problem. Stunning views and very scenic.Would stay again but only overnight.

Stayed just the one night. My room was similar to a sauna, small, box-like and stuffy. I could have resolved my shoes with the £15 steak I was presented with. No sign of Management, hotel was run by college school leavers. My first and last visit.

Its a Beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. Check in was smooth and given all the infomation about the hotel. The room was clean and a good size as was the bathroom. Nice hotel in an old house, with library & plenty of space to sit around & drink their coffee/tea & eat the snacks available with the drinks. Staff were really helpful/ friendly & we had a nice meal at pretty good prices for a hotel.

Communal area is magnificient with a lot for history. Only down side of trip that we could not get conecting room. One of the room's TV was not tuned in so we repoted, they were greatful of the feedback. Also it was good swiming poo,lt was a littel shame that spa was under maimtenance. We recomend to stay.

We came here for a good value weekend. Its a pleasant hotel in a nice countryside location but what really stood out was how helpful all staff were. My wife is following a very specific diet for medical reasons and the catering staff responded magnificently to this. Very highly recommended for first class service.

Lovely hotel in a secluded location and I have stayed here before but service wasn't great on this occasion, and trying to get a meal and drink proved very difficult with reception staff unaware of a private function taking place in the restaurant and bar. Neither bar, restaurant, or reception staff offered help in direction to alternative venue on […] site. Room comfortable and clean. Check in great and friendly room was dissapointing closed the curtains and found them in a terrible state big tears - looks like where the radiator was. bed cover may have been clean but it looked filthy full of stains i was on the ground floor just past the check in desk - last room on the right (326 i think) the bathroom was an extention and i […] could not stand on the floor it was so cold i had to lay out a towel just to be able to walk into it. terrible lighting in the room if you planned to do some work . We have stayed in a number of De Vere hotels and enjoyed every one of them in varying degrees. This one is our favourite by a long way, a beautiful old manor with modern comforts situated in a stunning environment by the Chess Valley. If you need to be close to London there are good rail links from close by, the M25, M40 and M4 all very handy and even […] Heathrow is not too far away. But if you like walking and stunning scenery this would prove an excellent base from which to start, particularly with prices from £29. Breakfast (£9 when booked in advance) is excellent value too.OK, there are a few deficiencies: there have been problems with the leisure facilities on at least two of the occasions we have used the hotel so couldn't recommend it if you simply must have access to them, but all in all this is a very pleasant place to stay and our recent stay will not be our last. Apart for the 5 minutes walk to the restaurant for breakfast, this was an excellent stay.Nice room, pool, great team. Well worth staying there, provided you have a car to get there.

I always use Latimer when visiting the office never disappointed, competitive price and the bonus of having a swimming pool, Sauna and steam room. Recommended.

I had to walk a very long way to get to my room and the house keeping knocked on my door early to wake me up for some reason, they also must have had the room next door as a store room as they made a lot of noise.

I always use Latimer Place when I can for visiting the office and although some of the rooms are sometimes old they are in very good condition. They have a small gym and also pool, steam room & sauna which is included in the price of your stay.

This hotel is a little below the DeVere Venue standards but the upside is that there are some excellent deals frequently available. The rooms are small but comfortable. The staff are friendly and the foods is well presented and very reasonably priced.

It was with some consternation that I saw that the overall rating for this gem was only two out of five. I arrived ahead of normal checking in time and was given prompt assistance by courteous and professional staff who took the time to listen to my queries and gave much better advice and more assistance, than I could reasonably have expected. Even […] the chambermaid make a special trip to the stores in order to bring me normal coffee sachets instead to the decaffeinated type. I think this and all the other De Vere Venues hotels I have stayed at deserve special credit for their service, professionalism and facilities when one considers that they are geared more towards being a conference center and training venues rather than being leisure spa's and health resorts. Rooms clean and comfortable, meal was excellent although not a lot of choice but i think this was down to there being a conference on. Staff were all excellent. Some parts of the main house were well kept where others could have done with a little tlc. Good hotel but wouldnt stay here for a luxury get away but served our purpose.

We booked on line and got a great price for our one night stay on our way to visit family in London. The staff were very welcoming and we loved the hotel so much that we tried to book in for our return journey the following day. However, because the hotel was almost fully booked the price was almost double and, sadly, out of our budget. Was very disappointed with room first night as was expecting a double and had a cramped and dark single . however after asking to be moved in the morning ended up in lovely double room... both rooms were very well decorated with contemporary furnishings in the Mews.

Excellent service from friendly efficient staff. Fantastic location and environment, just not the most convenient. Personally I found it great for commuting into West London. Very relaxing. Hellpful friendly staff. Comfortable spacious rooms. Breakfast was buffet style and on the first morning was a bit dry as it seemed to have been standing under warming lights for too long so we felt that was not really good value for money. Everthing else was excellent.
