This hotel was comfortable and a good location to get the train to Monte Carlo and Nice. Not alot of English spoken at this hotel, it is a bit tried looking.

Great room - lousy cheap plastic glasses. Dining room and food pretty good but a scramble with coach parties at breakfast and dinner time. Took one dinner only and went out for the rest.

Apart from one of the receptionists from Gretna Green, I think I was the only Brit in 250 rooms or so.! The large hotel,, beautifully restored, stands in large grounds yet in an excellent location. My single room though was tiny and a rather hard bed. The breakfast was huge. It seemed to always be near fully booked. Great place for access to Monaco, only 10 mins on the train at a cost of 2 euro's each way. Place itself was a bit like an old peoples home, but don't let that put you off, the staff were very friendly, access to Monaco is great and a nice roof top terrace for breakfast overlooking the gardens. As a one night stop over you could do far worse.

Although the room was ok for the price neither the WIFI (which was advertised as available) nor the TV in my room worked. Ths was very frustrating and the night receptionist was unhelpful about the TV and was downright rude to some people who were checking in but who didn't have the twin room that was booked for them. My boyfriend and I stayed for 5 nights here in early July 2012. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was excellent (we were upgraded unexpectedly to a room overlooking the park with its own terrace - lovely!), and the breakfast offered an excellent choice of fruits, yoghurts, fruit juice, tea, coffee, fresh bread, croissants, pain-au-chocolat, […] ham, cheese, eggs, and cereals. The hotel is a very short stroll to the beach, and there is a small supermarked neaby, which was great for pic-nic lunches! The hotel is neat and clean. It's in a good neighborhood and convenient to all. Criticisms: no beach towels (it is against the rules to the take the room towels to the beach), no shampoo/conditioner provided, must check-out hairdryer from front desk as there are a limited number, air conditioning in room didn't work.

Fine location for the town with gardens with easy parking above and below ground to the rear of the hotel. Would describe the room and food we had as adequate but with English speaking staff no problems.

Convenient location with easy access to the train, main pedestrian area and the sea front. Clean, tidy and quiet with beautiful manicured gardens and secure garage parking. Rooms are small but adequate with up to date bathrooms. Free wifi in the lobby, laundry facilities and a helpful staff (most of whom spoke English). Will be back next year!

Very pleased with hotel, excellent central location. Mainly elderly French folk staying, but we had been expecting that. Good value. We were initially given a small double room although having requested a twin room, but were quickly transferred to a bigger twin.

Pro: It is very convenient, with a grocery store just on the street end on the left, and 6-7 min walking distance to the beach. Room is clean and spacious. A nice garden in front of the hotel. Lovely location, near the beach and local amenities but still quite quiet. Hotel is quiet too, especially at night - many older residents. The bar closes very early - about 8:30pm I think! But if you're looking for peace and quiet this is a boon. The grounds to the hotel are pretty, lots of trees and exotic plants and a terrace with tables. Didn't try any hotel food, there being so many nice cafés and restaurants to try. Hotel staff were pleasant and helpful and spoke some English. It's not a very English-speaking town - would probably be difficult to get by without speaking French or Italian. About a 5-10 minute walk from train station - train travel up and down the beautiful coast is highly recommended. Most of the beaches along this stretch are pebbles - great for avoiding sand in awkward places, but flipflops are essential. Menton beach is less busy than many along the coast. beautiful gounds, very pivate. excellent location, less than 10 minutes from the train station by foot, few minutes away from the beach. The front desk staff personnel very friendly, helpful, excellent customer service. The rooms are charming, a little bit outdate, but very quite and cozy!. I highly recomend this hotel.

We had a very pleasant stay.The hotel is a bit dated but all areas hallways ,lobby ,bar ,and dining areas were all very clean and tidy.The reception staff both French an English where very helpful .The hotel gardens are wonderful many shady areas to sit and enjoy the surroundings.The train station is a 5 minute walk away,and the bus from Nice airport […] drops you about 5 minutes walk away from the hotel. Arrive dans un hôtel du troisième âge, arrive dans cet hôtel, l hôtel fait propre arrive dans la chambre et c est le choque une chambre minuscule, un lit immense qui prend toute la place, tellement grand qu'on ne peut même pas poser la valise par terre pour l'ouvrir, une vue magnifique sur des mauvaises herbes, un mur tagué, et surtout la voie de chemin […] de fer à 15 mètres de la chambre. La salle de bain minuscule aussi avec une mini douche ou il faut attendre 10 minutes pour avoir de l'eau chaude. Le personnel était intérimaire donc très dur de régler une nouvelle carte pour la chambre et donne le code wifi de la chambre ( qui ne marche pas ). La nuit on est réveiller par le passage du train, un bruit telle le tonnerre. Le matin le petit déjeuner est vraiment la rencontre du troisième âge. Un voyage rater, une réservation dans cet hôtel qui ne parle pas du train, qui parle du wifi, qui a surchauffé selon l'homme d'accueil. Abbiamo alloggiato in questo hotel per una sola notte.Molto grande, ampi spazi, ma alquanto datato. Seppur evidente un rifacimento interno dei corridoi (moquette e lampadari),gli arredi delle camere risultano alquanto essenziali.Manca un frigobar, fondamentale per un hotel in una località di mare dove in estate fa caldo e spesso si sente la necessità […] di qualcosa di fresco.All'interno dell'hotel c'è un bar aperto solo fino alle 22.00.Se si ha voglia di un sorso di acqua fresca di notte, ci si arrangia, come abbiamo fatto noi,portandoci uno zainetto frigo con una bottiglia di acqua ghiacciata che abbiamo utilizzato di notte,ormai sciolta.I bagni, poi, lasciano molto a desiderare:piastrelle quadrate bianche,pavimenti vecchi e consumati, un picccolo lavabo con mobiletto bianco in formica.Per quanto pulito,la sensazione è quella di un bagno da campeggio.Non c'è set cortesia,solo due piccole saponette. Dopo aver letto tutte le recensioni, abbiamo comunque scelto questo hotel perchè risultava il più economico ed era compresa la colazione.Ideale se ci si ferma per una, massimo due notti e si arriva un po' preparati ed attrezzati (portarsi bagno schiuma e shampoo e phon e,prima di rientrare in camera, dell'acqua fresca se vi dovesse venir sete di notte).Senza grosse pretese, dunque. Très bonne impression dans l'ensemble. En revanche, il arrive parfois que certains membres du personnel soient peu souriants (petit-déjeuner). L'établissement est très lumineux, superbe à l'intérieur comme à l'extérieur côté parc et la propreté est irréprochable.
