The hotel was perfect for my weekend stay. I ran in the rock n roll marathon and it was less than a mile away from the starting line, and not too far from the finish line. Only downfall was there was loud street noise and you could hear the airplanes coming in at all hours, but once asleep it wasn't a problem. This was my first trip to San Diego & didn't know anything about the area. The walls are thin between rooms & if you're a light sleeper the air traffic is notable. The hotel is clean & staff friendly. Decided to stay an extra night in SD, booked this place at a great rate. Rooms are a little small including the beds and its near the airport, but other than that the service was excellent and for the price it exceeded my expectations. Will recomend, walking distance from the beach AND gaslamp district.

Depending on the focus of your stay, the hotel's location may or may not be the most central. However, if you're prepared to walk a little, you can still get to places like the Air and Space Museum, Horton Plaza, the Gaslamp area, Civic center trolley station, etc, with a bit of legwork. MTS buses 3 and 120 operate close by too if needed. As for being […] close to the approach path of aircraft landing at SAN, I found the noise level tolerable, not deafening. Landings seem to stop by midnight and I was never awoken by air traffic during my stay. Other than that the neighbourhood is mostly quiet. The front desk was quite matter-of-fact, but overall helpful. Room-cleaning was quite fast, finishing within 20min. My room, 422, had a window view of an adjacent wall, was quite compact, but otherwise was clean, comfortable and functional. Complimentary WiFi was provided, a major bonus for me. Bathroom/wash facilities were adequate. My only gripe was that I never got any hot water from the shower, though that was present at the wash-basin tap. I used to live in the neighborhood, so Im used to the environment. The hotel wasn't bad at all. Very quiet and clean. The only problems I had, was the iron. It leaked water very bad. But as soon as I took it to the front desk, they replaced it with a brand new one, on the spot. The other problem is that, they dont have parking. I have stayed here before and always enjoyed it. It IS under the flight path and can be loud, but that stops at night and with the A/C on you don't really hear it. Also it's a little further walk from Gas Lamp, so be prepared to walk-even up and down hills. Rooms are very nice and front desk gave me water and fruit!

Within walking distance of harbor, gas lamp area and Balboa Park. Lots of noise from airplanes landing every 2-3 minutes. Nice courtyard with fountain, plantings and benches. Bagels, muffins, jjuice, instant oatmeal, fruit all available for breakfast. Coffee maker and refrigerator in the room. Small rooms but comfortable.

Very cute boutique hotel in the hillside district of downtown. Open courtyard provides starry nights and beautiful tropical foliage. The room had a cute kitchenette and up to date bathroom. Check-in desk and lobby are of deco design. Near the San Diego trolley stop. Very romantic hotel for Downtown visit.

I had a pleasant experience, the location of the hotel was easy to find with my gps. Bobby who checked me in was most helpful in getting me decaf coffee and directing me to the closest grocery store.

Bobbie the front desk attendant was great. He did everything he could to make our stay as positive as possible.The hotel was apartments at one time so the units are smaller and the sink is in the kitchenette. went for my boyfriends birthday weekend to hang out in the Gaslamp District. The bonuses are locations decent, customer service was good and there was a refrig and microwave and it was nice and clean but very very small rooms and the very small parking lot across the street was expensive and if you plan on leaving at all plan to get a cab.

The rooms need a good deep cleaning and maybe some paint and cocking. The bathroom was the smallest I've ever seen and it was complicated for 2 skinny people to move around in the room. One of the smallest if not the smallest room I've ever stayed in. Nice workers and looks clean from the outside.

Yes, rooms are small, but super functional and have everything you need. Complimentary breakfast is quite impressive for this price. You can walk to a lot of cool places (Little Italy, Balboa Park, Dowtown, Hillcrest). Would definitely stay there again for that price.

This Budget Inn was perfect for my budget standards. The whole inn was spotless. Although not near convention center, it is close to Balboa Park attractions, and to 5th Ave trolley station. Drawback is noise from landing jets from 6 AM to 10:30 PM. But most guests are gone during those hours. No free parking from 8 to 8. Good wifi service.
