2/10 Poor

A very bad experience on so many levels...
My poor experience started when I arrived at the destination to find the road was all double-yellow lined, except for a taxi rank. Having said there was parking nearby, I visited three nearby car parks. Two were short stay and the long stay was locked overnight until 8am. Not suitable for an overnight stay for work. I ended up parking over the bridge with a ten minute walk back to the room. Instructions on where to park are urgently required when booking here, please! On finally arriving, there was no sign on the door and no instructions on how to check in (either on email or on the premises). The front door happened to be unlocked, but there were no instructions indoors either. I called the number on the booking email and the person who answered said they'd send someone to help. After five minutes of waiting on the street, I received a text explaining how to check in (basically, the door is open, the keys are inside). Once inside, there was no curtain or blind and the window overlooked the high street!! There was no way to get undressed without people seeing! To top it all off, the shower temperature veered from freezing to scalding every few seconds, so it was not a comfortable stay. I hope whoever manages the place reads this and improves the service and adds basic furnishings so this doesn’t happen to anyone else. I, for one, won’t be staying there again!

10/10 Exceptional

It was very comfortable and the suite is well located close to a main Street. Once we realized that you just let yourself in, we were fine.

4/10 Fair

A few positives - well located, room size was good, fridge in room, tv with lots of channels. Unfortunately there were far more negatives. No check-in information was provided, so I had to attempt to contact the accommodation several times via email and phone. I only received check-in details a few hours beforehand after I'd text them. It was clear no one was going to be proactive about reaching out first, or willing to speak to me in person. The check-in information said that I needed to use a secure pin-pad to access the property. However, in fact all of the locks on the front door had been removed and anyone could wander in off the street, so the building did not feel secure at all. The room itself had a key left inside the door, but this must have been accessible to anyone at all throughout the day. I have never seen such thin pillows or curtains. The furnishings in the room were extremely cheap and flimsy, meaning I had to sleep without any neck support in a room with streetlight pouring in. The property is in-between two pubs, which is fine, but some proper curtains would have helped to block out some of the very loud street noise. I didn't expect much for the price, but it felt like it wouldn't have taken very much cost or effort for the room to have been made so much more comfortable.

6/10 Good

Cute village, excruciating mattress
Love the self check in system as we had no idea what time we'd arrive. Cute room (no 3) amusing knick knacks by the stairs, bedside and bathroom. Fridge and small table/chairs a great touch, and water bottles nice. Weak shower, hand basin not sink, no room for toiletries, make up etc, dim bathroom light (over mirror light didn't work) so couldn't do make up. TV worked ok. No bedside table on one side nor bedside lamp for reading/mood lighting. Very central. No parking though, had to find a confusing multistory in town and carry suitcases and bags. But worst of all, and a bit upsetting as we came down for an early event the next morning, was no sleep due to the worst mattress we have ever encountered! Not just soft but lumpy, it seemed collapsed or something. I usually can sleep on anything but this was impossible. My partner has a bad back so he was in agony through the night and next day. Advice, sell the elephants, miniature cottages and bedside pebbles (!?) and invest in a proper mattress.
