8/10 Very good

Friendly B&B
The room was extremely large with lovely touches. The bathroom was luxurious, but there is a lack of plug sockets near mirror for drying hair. The bed was hard and not very comfortable. People should be made aware of the presence of cats. Although not a problem for me but I have a niece who is very allergic and we were visiting her after our stay.

Lesley is a lovely hostess. She is friendly & easy going. My sister & I certainly enjoyed our stay. Clean, comfortable rooms with lots of amenities, including private bathrooms. Bus nearby, as were pubs & grocery stores. Easy walks.

Lovely friendly B&B with Lesley as host and Ted and Harry as her hidden bonus for pet lovers. A great and genuine welcome, we ate at The Pelican for evening meal on Lesley’s recommendation, we were not disappointed. Breakfast was amazing! Would very much recommend.

4/10 Fair

Friendly welcome; clean room. But be warned, this is a 'B', not a B&B in the traditional sense. If you want breakfast you have to book it, at additional cost. The landlady kindly offered to provide me with toast & even offered to go out & buy some cereal (which i said was not necessary). I accepted the offer of toast. I wasn't shown any other area of the B and i never saw the toast, or the landlady again - except for bumping into her the next morning out walking her dog whilst. There was no mention of toast. The room, though clean, fronted the house which is on a very noisy road & there's a bust stop right out front at which people seem to gather at odd hours for loud conversations - not her fault/responsibility obviously but didn't make for a good night's sleep. The bathroom, though clean, is minute so if you're larger than a size 14, you might struggle. I recognise that we're in hard times but for me that means do better if you want the business - provide me with a reason for recommending you. Don't hand over a doorkey and then not check in with your guest to ensure all is well at any time at all over a 3 night stay and don't offer toast if you don't plan to be around to provide it.

Great stay
Room was very clean and well appointed, cooked breakfast was made to order whilst cereal/yogurt/fruit was help yourself buffet style. A great stay for me as a single traveller on business - no hassle and comfortable. Owner takes good care of the place and the guests. If you don't like big dogs then give it a miss as Ted the huge soppy German Shepherd may well greet you. On the other hand he might be the highlight of your stay!
