Someone knocked out door on first day and telling that they are from apartment below the property and they have water leak from this apartment. How could I trust someone in a new place. We told them to contact the property owner, but we did not feel safe there after. They asked us to vacate the property next day in morning and gave us an alternate property away from this location Rialto. We had to pack everything in the morning and leave to another property. Rialto property did not have bath soap and toilet was not sufficient for 2 days. Kitchen did not have basics like salt and pepper, I had to go buy it just to have a simple breakfast at home. I totally forgot to check salt and pepper in apartment when we bought our groceries. The other property was not that good and far from Rialto. We requested full refund, and they agreed. Now I had lost half day struggling to pack and move. After that I had to change the plans and cut short my trip activities in Venice and was so stressed. Vacation ruined! Had to drop off the at Luggage storage facility and went out and then booked another place in evening, was challenging to get anything in reasonable price range on short motice. Now comes the refund, they did not refund the full amount and took the cancellation fee. I did not cancel, they did, why should I pay cancellation fee? Had to contact Expedia and they helped me get the full refund after few days of back and forth.
So much pain and stress for a vacation we wanted to enjoy :(
