An okay place
The cleaning staff did not make up my room after my first night. The bed was comfortable and the TV selection was good. I can say I probably would not stay there again even if it was less expensive than some.

Management were kind and helpful, had clean sheets and bathroom. But the place was falling apart. The room looked like it hadn't benn dusted in weeks. Carpet was filthy

This hotel was a place to sleep for the limited amount of time we were in Wilmington. There's an out-of-control plant growing throughout the lobby. It does need updated starting at the lobby and all the way through all the rooms. The pool is freezing cold, the furniture in the room needs to be updated/replaced, and the beds are low quality. The breakfast left a lot to be desired.

2/10 Poor

There were bugs on the walls in the hallway and the linens were dirty - digusting - front desk person rude and nasty = stay far away from this hotel

Pick a different hotel
The clerk did not find our reservations for two adjacent rooms that we made well over a month ago in Hotels.com. The clerk found our friends another room and upgraded them to a suite. There was a prodigious odor of burnt marijuana all through the hotel (funny how it was to be "non-smoking"). The "breakfast" in the morning consisted of individually plastic wrapped waffles, bread and English muffins with dry cereal, one toaster and a juice machine. Definitely not worth the per night cost.

Cheap and well kept property and rooms. Quiet area but right near many restaurants and shops. Comes with a little fridge freezer. Water pressure and hot water was amazing. Bed was hard as a rock and being/towels aren't done unless you ask for it.

Don’t go here
The check in person was on their phone the entire time and kept getting my room assignment wrong, the keys didn’t work, had to go up and down the stairs several times with luggage. The hotel is in terrible disrepair and needs to be updated. The breakfast was not serve safe, the health department needs to come there and shut that place down.

2/10 Poor

The place stunk, it was dirty, they used plexiglas at the front desk, dead plants in the lobby, and no elevator. I took one walk to my assigned room and went back to the front desk and checked out without even getting my luggage out of the car. His only comment was that he wouldn’t refund my money and I’d have to contact Expedia. Horrible experience.

Power outages, no internet, cable TV etc. But I won't blame the facility as they can't control storms. But some of the dresser drawers would slide open and wouldn't stay closed. No USB ports. It felt like the hotel hasn't been updated since the 1990's. The staff tried and the area is close to services and businesses. But I don't feel the cost justified what you received. Like a Motel at Hotel costs. Even most motels I've stayed at had at least one USB port in the room. I can't comment on TV programming or internet speed since neither worked due to the storm while I was there.

Royalton Inn
The room had enough space for two people. Love that it had an overstuffed chair and we didn’t have to always lay on the bed. Desk chair also . The shower curtain would not stay closed. Liked the tv channels-good variety to watch. Yoghurt would have been good at breakfast!!!

This hotel is tired & worn. The mgt. cuts corners every which way. The sheets on my bed had brown stains. There is only 1 ice machine for 2 floors & the only existing one was out of order for Labor Day weekend with a heat wave. I asked for a late checkout - the manager told me he could not offer this because the hotel was booked that evening. I checked on hotels.com & there were rooms available to book that night. I will be returning to Wilmington, and certainly will not stay her again.

You get what you pay for, so for a one-night stay, we knew we were going for cheap, and did not expect a lot. However, it was dirty. The toilet ran all night. The beds were hard. The dog across the hall barked all night. The (loud) truck beneath our window rumbled for quite awhile in the early morning. Probably next time we won’t be so cheap and will pay double down the road.

Goes against federal law about asking to see my girlfriends service dog papers when she clearly has her service vest on. Luckily we didn't file an ADA complaint against them.
