6/10 Good

Very cute and stylish cabin and great instructions from the property owners. However I felt the cabin needed some updating and some more cleaning - the washing machine had a very foul smell. The road to the location is also quite long and bumpy.

Super cute and comfortable, we liked the drive and being away from town. The kitchen/dining/living room felt homey.

Very nice authentic country side cabin in rural Iceland. Views were phenomenal couldn't have asked for a better stay in our last Icelandic destination.

8/10 Very good

The road to this cabin was a very long, secluded, bumpy dirt road. We came across a couple who had gotten a flat tire on the road which made me very nervous because it was just my daughter and I solo on this trip. That aside, the cabin was beautiful. Spacious and cozy with everything you worked need for an extended stay. The couch in the living area was very comfortable and so was the bed. We loved the cabin! If you’re looking for something off the beaten path this place is great! If you are not a fan of being in the middle of nowhere I’d say probably not for you. All in all we really enjoyed it

Spacious but not as clean as it could be
These cabins are very remote! Its a long drive along a gravel road that has some significant pot holes. We had a 4x4 so managed fine but did take it easy. Owners emailed a property pack over which was super detailed including how to access the property, how to locate to, facilities provided in it etc. The reception areas were large and well furnished. Bedrooms tiny but comfortable enough. We struggle with any kind of decent flow from the shower but able to put that into perspective given location. The things that could be better include the cleanliness. There were so many crumbs on floor, dining table etc from before us. The have a cleaner service the properties between stays but i suspect this is focused on linen changes mostly and general cleaning is left to guests. The property pack warns nothing is provided in terms of tea and coffee. Given the remoteness this feels a bit mean. All other self catering places we stayed at included these basics. In reality, these things were there but probably as a result of previous guests. Guests are expected to strip linen before they leave etc. Again, not unusual but not upfront with it either. The set of guest rules for this place is lengthy and only shared once your booking date is close. The least relaxed of all the self catering places we stayed at and with the earliest check out time. Appreciate they explain why that is, but still an inconvenience ultimately. Shared garden with cabin 2 - worth noting if you expect privacy

If you want solitude this is your place to escape all the machinations of our world. Property owner provides a plethora of things for you to do. You can grill outside on the deck, watch the stars or aurora, read a book inside the cozy cabin, play a deck of cards, cook almost anything in the fully stocked kitchen or just cozy up on the sofa or loft. Our only concern is the long 7km drive on the gravel road to reach the property. Can be a bit bumpy if you’re only used to smooth tarmacs. If you’ve got an suv or pickup should be fine. Small cars take note. Tak tak!

Cosy Cabin
Cosy Cabin is the rightful description, a bit of an adventure to find, but once you are there the surroundings the details in the cabin are wonderful. Rustic style of an old Icelandic summerhouse. Well worth the stay.

You have to go through a dirt road for about 15 minutes. So be sure that your rental car includes that. Once you get there, it’s stylish and very comfortable, with amazing views. They seemed to be new.

This really is a charming, clean, beautiful cabin with an excellent kitchen, comfortable, warm rooms and a dark sky at night. Wish I could have stayed longer and hopefully I'll be back some day. Recommend a 4x4 in winter, but all in all not too hard to get to - mostly found the larger car useful when heading further north. Communication from the owners was punctual and informative - and a very helpful booklet on the local area was provided in the cabin.

Ça pouvait être mieux
Un check-in catastrophique.
