We came away for a nice romantic weekend and to celebrate a friend's big birthday. Brighton was lovely but I'm not sure I'd stay in this hotel again. The hotel is pretty tired, and in some places dirty. For the price we paid, we expected more; a better service and better upkeep of the hotel.

Parking guidelines on automated message when calling don't correspond with actual instructions
Parking lift not working
Staff were too busy chatting/joking between themselves on reception for several minutes before noticing that we were waiting to check in
Room needed better maintenance (door edging falling off, soap dispenser sticking, shower nob too difficult to move, carpet needed better hoovering)
Hairdryer didn't work & took too long for new one to be brought up (housekeeping also unhelpful when following up)
Main hall, look up and see lots of fallen tiles from roof in the netting- slightly scary
Breakfast - busy and not enough tables, we had to sit at a lower table at the bar which was not set up. No knives and spoons. Had to ask multiple times. Many items on buffet not labelled. Long wait for omelet. Some items not replenished quick enough.
