False advertising stay away
Dafu House couldn’t be further from its online description. Upon arrival in the room, we noticed that there were missing panes of glass in both the bedroom and the bathroom windows. After 17 hours of travel, we were unable to shower, brush our teeth or even flush a toilet, because THERE WAS NO WATER in the hotel’s tanks. The air conditioner didn’t work and was never fixed. Our mosquito nets had holes in them and the “bedding” consisted of nothing more than a unfitted sheet and a pillow. To have your room cleaned, you needed to return your keys to the reception desk and hope for the best. The safe didn’t work. The entire building was a construction site, with loud banging throughout the day (perfect for my business calls). We also had to climb over piles of rubble in the reception area to get into the building.
The “continental breakfast” is served from “8 until 9”, but it took the entire hour to be served one dry pancake, a slice of melon, over ripe papaya, instant coffee and some super crispy-fried eggs. The hotel advertises 24 hour reception, yet we were locked out of the hotel at 10pm on Sunday night and unable to enter until we’d phoned multiple numbers written on a piece of paper, glued on the door. The entrance to the hotel was through a burger joint which was also the “restaurant” and “business centre” the WiFi wasn’t usable. When we asked for a refund, we were told we were unable to claim one. Total false advertising and images they use are fake
