Mr Gregory at the front desk was exceptional! He was very friendly and helpful with local places to eat and visit! Our shower wasnt working and he promptly gave us access to another shower and then the hotel fixed it first thing the next morning! The only down side we noticed was they emptied the dumpster at 2am and it was right outside one of our windows.

Loved it!
Love this place! Easy to find. Clean on the outside. Plenty of parking. Check in was easy, thank you to Mr. Gregory! Hotel room was located on the third floor. Hallway and elevator was clean. Very quiet, I didn’t hear any other guests or noise from outside. The room was gorgeous! Comes with the standards except for a microwave. Bathroom was clean and spacious. The water did not get fully hot. It was more of a lukewarm. Cable and internet worked. I highly recommend this place!

Mr.Gregory!
Our stay at the Brakeman hotel was beautiful. This hotel was done so nicely. The rooms are large and look very well done. The bed was so comfortable. There is also a great shower. The first floor is a visitors center which hosts those bus tours. They also have a little cafe and a gift shop. They have train memorabilia downstairs. Once you get on your private elevator you are separate from the public. This place felt very safe and secure. The outside doors lock at 5pm and then only hotel guests get access to the building. Guests get to park right out front of the station and do not have to find parking somewhere else. There is also a police station across the street. Floor 2 and 3 have been converted to these beautiful rooms and the rooftop is for private parties. From this hotel you can walk to many popular tourist destinations. You may have to walk 15 mins or more but it’s worth it to not have to find parking. The front desk attendant Mr.Gregory was the best. He’s from New Orleans so don’t be afraid to ask him for some recommendations. He knows all the best spots. I can’t wait to come back and stay at this hotel again.

Greatest little secret in New Orleans
This hotel was Amazing! The service from beginning to the end of my stay was A-1. The room was everything I expected and more. The bathroom was AMAZING! The staff were very knowledgeable and accommodating! The reason I didn’t give this property a 5⭐️ review is because there wasn’t a microwave in the room. I definitely enjoyed all of my food experiences but, I always had leftovers and I had to eat them cold bc I had a fridge to prevent it from going bad but no way to reheat the food.

Loved this property! The Brakeman Hotel entrance also contained the Basin St. Station which is the city of New Orleans' welcome center with adjoining landscaped parking for visitors. The first floor contains a staffed visitor information center featuring educational community exhibits, a performance venue, a walking tour kiosk, and an authentically New Orleans and Louisiana gift shop! The first floor is not a traditional hotel lobby per se but guests have access to the building entrance with the use of their room key. This safety measure was very reassuring, especially after the doors are closed to the public in the late afternoon. Our deluxe room was very nice with a comfy king bed and a wonderful view overlooking St Louis Cemetery No.1 and looking towards the French Quarter.

Friendly staff and well taken care of. Just across the street from the French quarter too. But their private events late at night are loud and some noise transfers between rooms pretty easily.
