This stay reminded me of camping and why, for the most part, I detest it. The one blanket smelled like braai/ campfire and the other one was dirty or not properly washed. That was put- off one and two for me. I was at war with flies and mosquitos for both nights. I managed to swat some flies, however, mosquitos are more agile. I woke up with skin that was on fire and a left eyelid that was stung half shut. I woke up from scratching myself in the little sleep I did get. There was no television in the room, even though when I made the booking it said flat screen tv. No toiletries was supplied only hand wash. No towels were supplied. There was no WiFi too or any indication in the room of its code. When I made the booking these should have been included, as stated. The breakfast the first morning left me with a displeasing bout of nausea, it was too oily. The swarm of flies at breakfast made it worse. I understand that it is farm land, I just expected different. I am also not a fan of French fries for breakfast. The kettle on the breakfast counter was infested with cockroaches. That was the most displeasing sight for me, other than having one in my tea water. I hope management look into that. I cannot believe it went unnoticed thus far. The stay was okay, however, up to date it was the least pleasant experience I have ever had. If you like a camping ambience with a toilet on the inside and the sound of mosquitos wings flapping? Then I will suggest give Joie De Vevre a try.
