This hotel has cozy and warm rooms. The hotel has a modern style and is very new, and it's only a 5 minute walk to the old town.

Rooms are basic but comfortable, excellent locatio
Hotel is OK, breakfast nothing special, SPA is nice, be aware that it comes with added costs. Rooms are basic but comfortable, excellent location.

Good location, good services. The only downside was that there was no hot water in the shower on the second morning.

Great hotel!
This was a great hotel! Had a wonderful view of the old Town and was an easy walk there. The room was quite basic, but the staff were very accommodating, allowing us a slightly later check out and slightly earlier check in. With our room, we paid slightly more for access to the spa, which was well worth it!

Hotel itself was decent. But the location was absolutely amazing.

Great location
Nice hotel with great location! Mostly a calm and quiet area. I've stayed at Metropol several times and I keep coming back because it's reasonably priced. The rooms are a nice size and they have refrigerators which is lovely!

Convenient city centre hotel at a reasonable price for a one-nighter. I wouldn't want to stay for too long. Facilities are fine, but basic, as is reflected in the price.

Breakfast was good, area is central, that's about it. Rooms were too stuffy and warm, bathroom had a weird sewer smell and pool had an unmentioned FEE per use.

Not too good
Bad breakfast and bad that the spa wasn’t included for the guests. The spa fee was 15 euros per person. The room was ok!

6/10 Good

It was an okay stay and the location of the hotel was very suitable for our stay. The room was of good size, had a fridge and a comfortable bed. The lack of AC made the room rather uncomfortable though. Breakfast was fine, but it would have been nice to have more vegetarian options.

8/10 Very good

The hotel was very clean. The shower in the room was very strong and warm. The beds were comfy. The staff were helpful and we could get into our room early on check in. It's incredibly central with some wonderful restaurants around and only a 5 minute stroll to the old town and short walk to the docks for a day trip to Helsinki. The rooms could get a little warm I guess in the summer months but for the money excellent

Walking distance to the ferry Terminal and Old City as well as the Rotermanni Quarter. Good breakfast buffet. High fees for use of pool and exercise facilities. Driveway with a huge pothole in front of the front door needs to be repaired asap.

Strategic ahotel at 10 minutes from center
The hotel's location is strategic, being only a 10-minute walk to the city center. The room was nice and spacious, and I particularly enjoyed the Jacuzzi and sauna. However, I was disappointed to find that there was no soap or shampoo in the bathroom. Additionally, the breakfast was average.
Riccardo, 1-night trip

Hotel with simple rooms without facilities
This hotel is overrated in the description. The rooms are very simple and with no modern facilities. You can't even make yourself a cup of tea or coffee. No air condition. The breakfast is OK, but not more. The price/value ratio is OK, but you are led by the pictures and the description to expect more that you actually get.
Anders, 5-night trip

4/10 Fair

The location is good, nice area and walking distance to downtown. The hotel is fine, including the rooms. The disappointment was that it is published in expedia as it has a pool, it is even the first photo you see, but they don't mention that you have to pay an extra fee for every time that you want to use it. Expedia didn't want to refund for those extra fees, they just gave a minor value voucher (not the actual cost for using the pool for the days i stayed) for continuing using their services with an expiration date. So not a honest hotel and not a good service from expedia.
Gabriela, 2-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

I was misled about the swimming pool. Woke up early and tried to go for the morning swim, then learned that the pool is only available to the spa users and opens rather late at 10AM or so. Not as convenient as usual hotels setup when the pool is part of the hotel facilities and can be used any time by the hotel guests.
Alexei, 2-night trip

Decent hotel, good value, no frills and no air con
Pros: good value for money, great location to city centre, hotel looked nice, room was a decent size, shower was powerful, fresh towels & room cleaned daily. Cons: check-in process was slow (1 staff member on the desk for a large queue, waited 20-30 mins, online check-in seemed pointless, only to be told my room wasn’t ready yet!), the hotel bar was closed on Saturday or Sunday evening when we came back for a drink, room has no air con so was uncomfortable trying to sleep without being able to control the temperature, empty fridge in room with no bottle of water, no tea/coffee in room too. Reception staff kept telling me I booked a twin room but I can clearly see my booking says a double room! This is not a nice way to start your holiday!

Not a good option for a hot and humid summer stay
The room did not have AC, and although I knew this, I have to say it surprises me that a modern hotel of this size, with spa etc. does not invest in AC. The room was incredibly hot, and we had the window (sadly quite loud noice from parking lot behind hotel) AND the door open to get som airflow. There seemed to be floor heating in the bathroom, which also surprised me, and it could not be turned off. Staying here would be for fall and winter, but not for a humid summer.. The breakfast buffet was ok, but loud and very stressful with lots of people and queing at all times I was there. They should move the bread away from the corner, since there was constantly a crowd of queing/ toaster waiting people in the way for each other, in that corner. Also, the pool, which is shown as a main picture on their profile, cost extra (about 15 euro)..
Living in the window to get air, with room door constantly open!
