Staff was extremely accommodating. Hotel is in great location. Rooms are large and have cool style. Air conditioning didn't work!! Hot as hell in rooms. Very loud block. Had to open windows to sleep. Noise woke us up all night. Tons of mosquitos and we all got many mosquito bites. If not for air conditioning and noise we would recommend but cannot because it really effected our stay in a negative way.

Good location-easy access to metro
The floors in the room are not even, cracks in the plaster walls and ceiling. The air didn't maintain coolness, so it made it hard to sleep, being cold and hot. Tv only had one channel in English and the few other channels were not clear. Roberto was very Polite, helpful and nice and always had a smile on his face! Shower is two stories high, which was very impressive.

From SFO
Great location to Centro Histórico DF. This is the old Spanish Mansion of Hernan Cortes (Spanish conquistador) son. We stayed on the 2ND floor in the Suite facing the street. Great view of the famous Bellas Artes Opera House , Alameda Park. Some what noisy in the mornings, trucks and normal large city noise. Ok Trade off for being downtown.
Overall good experience.

Great hotel, great staff
After staying in many big and great hotels all over Mexico City I finally found "My personal Hotel" in Mexico City. Great staff, helpful and polite.
I will not change this hotel anymore. The breakfast buffet is like lunch buffet, simply incredible. Room is absolutely very clean and that is important for my wife, specially the bathroom. Great place and I will always recommend..

The hotel is pretty conveniently located but it's very outdated and requires serious maintenance, literally, the paint is pilling off the walls. As well, I'm not sure who designed it but there is no privacy in room/bathroom/shower, you can see everything from any angle of your room, which I don't find very comfortable. Hotel stuff was nice and helpful but I wouldn't come back

2 Canadians and 4 Brits Discover Mexico City!
We enjoyed this historical hotel ambience and its central location to many sights and restaurants.
The staff were excellent and attentive and especially Roberto who could not do enough to make our visit special.
We will recommend this property to anyone visiting exciting but busy Mexico City.

Great location and comfortable hotel!
The hotel is in the historic district and within walking distance of pretty much everything I wanted to see. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel will be going through renovations in 2016 to get ready for the 400th anniversary of the hotel in 2020. Will be going back to see it once but is done!

We stayed in this hotel back in 2012 and it was a great hotel to stay in. Rooms were in great condition. Not this time. The Hotel is in need of a remodeling pretty bad. The room we were in was in bad shape. Paint peeling off the walls, the wood flooring in the bathroom was rotted through. The "free wifi" is a sham, it does not work most of the time. However, the hotel personnel are courteous and nice. It is in a great location. Management needs to work on condition of the hotel.

Quaint gem in a great location
Sweet, quaint hotel with wonderful character. The staff were always eager to please, the restaurant situated in the hotel's courtyard was an unexpected surprise and the beds were comfortable. The hotel's pictures don't show you how interesting and beautiful the building. The two down sides were the Internet which was very slow in the room (but perfect if you stepped into the courtyard just outside the room door) and the bathroom which didn't have great ventilation. Overall, a wonderful find for a reasonable price.

Don't stay here if you want a good nights sleep!
Don't stay here if you want a good nights sleep.! On Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night the third floor bar/nightclub blasts music until 2 AM, so loud that is impossible to sleep, no matter which of the two floors of guests rooms you are staying in.
While the room is comfortable and the staff is very accommodating, this hotel needs to decide if it wants to be a hotel or a bar nightclub. It can't be both and expect to have any hotel guests return!

You won't be able to get any sleep!
Because of the rooftop Bar/Nightclub and the pounding, pulsating music they blast from their second floor rooftop that is heard from every guest room...I would NOT stay at this hotel again. It's too bad because the beds are comfortable, nice linens, helpful front office staff and the location across from Alemeda Park is nice. The nightclub is open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights and the music is blasted until 2 AM. The Hotel de Cortes needs to decide if they are going to continue as a hotel or just be a nightclub...because They can't do both and expect to have guests to get any sleep with this pulsating loud music.

Just OK... but thats OK too
Very simple, limited hotel. Good value for money in a strategic place in town. Lots of personality, reliable internet connection, helpful staff.
Now, don't stay here if: having an onsite gym is important (there isn't one), might want to order room-service food at night(restaurant closes at 5:00 PM Sunday-Thursday), expect breakfast to be included (it's cheap though), and/or want to watch TV in your room (very limited amount of channels).
Depending on all of the above, you could really like this place or plain dislike it.

A great boutique experience! The hotel is located in the heart of downtown, close to the Cathedral and presidential palace. You can have breakfast literally outside your hotel room. And you are at a short distance from a local street vendors.

Great value, beautiful bathroom!
I only stayed here for one night while passing through Mexico City, but I thought it was a good value for the price. The layout is a bit strange and it was eerily quiet the night I was there, but it's very clean, the rooms are nice, the bathrooms are exceptional and the staff is friendly.
