Things started to go wrong from the moment I got to the Hilton (which is inside a shopping centre called CNIT). I arrived later than expected (around 9.30pm) but the CNIT closes at 9 so the main entrance (with signed for the Hilton) was locked and no other signs anywhere to show where to do or what to do! After 20 minutes of looking around, I had to give up and call the hotel to be given instructions of how to go through the construction ground to find a side entrance with a small sign to press a button to call the hotel so they can open the door! WHY! It shouldn't be this hard just to get in!
Once in all went as expected. Checked in, went to the room number 210 (odd room with a Gym in it - See Pics). View from the window of the construction outside I walked thought to get to the Hilton. Went to bed, then at around 3:30 am, the noise started from the guys doing the construction outside my window! 3:30 AM - Are they mad? Do they not know its a hotel with people trying to sleep! Needles to say, that was the last of my sleep, and the hotel said I was "unlucky" and they "cant help what time the workers starts" as its not them doing it! Well, that makes it OK with me - NOT! £200+ to have a crappie night sleep!?! This was my first time in the Hilton here, and my last time. I come monthly to La Defense and I normally stay at the Renaissance nearby and its far far better all round. If only it hadn't been fully booked, I would have stayed there this time too :(
