We were thoroughly impressed with this hotel. The chateau has a moat! The grounds are beautiful and there are plenty of hotel rooms inside the actual chateau (often, when staying in a chateau, the hotel rooms are in a modernly built, boring annex that disappoints). We stayed in the family apartments which were in a beautiful old building right next to the main chateau building, but we were not disappointed. The rooms were beautifully appointed, and the children loved the idea of staying at a real palace. There is an excellent spa (although one does need to pay for use of the spa), and also a chocolate shop (the chocolates were awesome!). We ate dinner at the extremely elegantly appointed restaurant, with our children. Although our children were extremely well behaved in the restaurant, we were nervous that the staff might not appreciate having children in a very grown-up space. To our great relief, we found the waiters to be extremely accommodating towards our children, and the head waiter arranged for the chef to prepare some delicious "child-friendly" food for them. My husband and I were then able to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings and the delicious cuisine. Be warned though - this is not an environment for boisterous children, as some decorum is required. A wonderful, authentic Chateau Stay!
