Hotels.com not trustworthy
I would like to inform fellow travelers about a suspicious issue with Hotels.com. As a decade-long member, I have always considered this company to be reputable in securing the best hotel deals for clients until my recent experience. Hotels.com charged me $629 per night for a 3-star hotel that normally costs $207 per night. During a business trip, I booked my stay through Hotels.com a month in advance from 5/16/25 - 5/18/25 in Boston at the HYATT house in Boston, Waltham, a practice I have followed for years.During my 2-night stay, I was charged approximately $1400, which is significantly higher than the expected rate of around $400 if booked directly with the hotel. Upon bringing this price discrepancy to the attention of hotel manager Alex, I was instructed to contact Hotels.com, as the booking was processed via a third-party channel. I then contacted Hotels.com to request a price adjustment before checking out of the property.During my phone conversation with a Hotels.com manager, I was disappointed to find that they were unwilling to assist in resolving a problem I encountered. The manager stated that by agreeing to the price on their website and completing payment, I had effectively waived any right to a refund. This experience has led me to lose confidence in Hotels.com as a trustworthy third-party booking platform. As someone who travels frequently and has historically relied on Hotels.com for booking accommodations, I regret to say that I will be taking my busines els
