Cold! Heater didn't work.
Very Cold! The heater didn't work, though the staff tried. The restaurant was closed. The location and room is nice, but very small. Highway traffic didn't bother me. Had trouble getting my luggage up stones and grass.

Worst entry, best view
We arrived at night. It is very, very dark around the hotel. The party lights weren't much help finding where one enters. 395, while a beautiful highway, is the main route for the Eastern Sierra. Big semis hurl down it's two lanes. Once we were able to find the entrance, we had to phone the clerk/manager? This is an old establishment. Not easily accessible to anyone with mobility issues. The step to our concrete patio was badly tilted, slippery when icy. The floors are ceramic tile, hard and cold. Our room had beautiful old windows and the view of Mono lake is spectacular. The restaurant was closed so you'd need to drive a few miles into town to get something. Fortunately they provide a microwave (old and struggling) and a fridge

Decent night's rest before a drive to Yosemite
Very convenient for driving to Yosemite from the East. Lovely views of Mono Lake, somewhat tempered by heavy road traffic. Room was good-sized with fridge, microwave, and coffee maker (plus Belvita snack). Decent A/C and reasonably comfy bed. Slat blinds on windows could have used curtains for more privacy. Very small bathroom with pedestal sink and no shelves for toiletries. No light above mirror and no shower wand. Biggest con was lack of hair dryer so I couldn't wash my hair in the morning.

Disappointing
No internet in the room; no cell coverage; road noise; pricy for it’s condition.

We had a comfortable cabin for 2 nights. Bathroom with bath, heating all good. Some road noise, with or without the widows open, but it didnt keep us awake. Might be busier earlier in the season. Beautiful views over Mono Lake and well kept grounds with seating areas. Pricey, but so is everything in the vicinity of Yosemite. Lee Vining just up the road, a great little town with lots of food options including a very good value diner restaurant called Nicely's and one inside the Mobil station shop that also does amazing sandwiches. East entrance to Yosemite only open in summer but the Tioga Road has the best hikes and scenery, much nicer than Yosemite valley itself and way less crowded.

We arived about 20 minutes to 4pm the check in time was 4pm and the office door did not open untill 4pm never seen this. The room was very clean didn't care much for the hardwood floors but I guess was part of the nostalgia. The landscaping was very nice. We would have liked it if we were told that we needed to plug in an electric heater. I had to call the office and ask how to work the thermostat only to find out it didn't work. It was nice that they provided earplugs for the noise from the highway although we did not use them due to it was not that bad. We will stay here again if we travel back this way again.

I had never stayed at a hotel with broken door lock, nor had to wait 15min at empty front desk to check-in.

2/10 Poor

I was visiting Lee Vining to attend a music venue that evening. I tried to check in around 3pm so I could go to the venue and park for the evening. I thought the wood on the ramp was going to give way. The office door was locked, the parking lot empty. The place looked abandoned. I couldn’t take a chance that the office would again be closed after the venue, so I left town, missing the venue and hotel stay altogether. To say I was disappointed is an understatement.

This was a family run business. We had a late arrival. No issue for them. They got us squared away. The room was clean and well kept. No TV but that was fine for us. We had to ask for a heater as they were transitioning seasons but they had us squared away in no time. A bit pricey but served our needs well for an over night spot going into Yosemite for a Tuolumne Meadows hike.

The hotel is a little old, but the room was clean and very comfortable. The property has a beautiful view to the lake. The staff was very helpful and professional. Convenient stay if you're visiting Yosemite or Bodie.

We’ll be back.
Perfectly charming place to stay. Great view of Mono lake. This is not a luxury hotel which I like. It is a place that has been here for years yet made very comfortable with modern conveniences. Great place to relax and continue the journey. Very close to June lake as well Staff is very friendly
