Hotel is well situated for the town of Stornoway - in house food served to a good standard, good parking etc my only personal criticism- the bed in room 101- mattress issues. other than that it was enjoyable visit.

Poor value for money I was very disappointed with my stay here in both the condition of my room and the quality of the dinner I had on my first nights stay there .
My single room - cost £361.99 for 2 nights stay -
It was extremely small
The paint was peeling off the wall next to the bed and also on the bathroom ceiling . TV was mounted on the wall whereby soffit watch from the bed - a simple solution would be a swivel mounted tv stand .
The view from the room showned stuff / rubbish thrown on the grass .

Wonderful Stay at the “Cabar”
This is a lovely hotel. It is said to be the best on the island. Food is great. The rooms are comfortable and immaculate. Service is first rate. The manager, Marcus, is charming and informative. I would absolutely stay here again.

Redecorated since last visit and it really is beautiful The huge beds and the new decor really impressed. And the staff are very very helpful. As usual, food is amazing.
Room and shower room were clean and modern. The public areas are quite stunning and well maintained. Would never stay anywhere else on Lewis!

Spacious, up to date, quiet. Dinner was ok, perhaps not quite up to some others in the area, but good enough.

Very disappointing. Very poor value for money . I booked a superior single room as shown on the hotel site - image was not the same as in reality In my opinion it was total misrepresentation Room in reality was very small , paint peeling off the wall , difficult to watch tv as at a total different angle to the bed - not mounted on a swivel bracket . The view from the room was stuff all dumped in the garden - terrible view! I ordered freshly caught Haddock for dinner the first evening which was mainly batter and very little fish very disappointed. Breakfast was excellent Staff were professional other than one receptionist who couldn’t provide me with information as to where I should visit or how to get to anywhere in Stornoway bearing in mind I had never been to the Western Isles and told her this . I did speak to the manager about the above issue and he was very apologetic and said he didn’t know about the room being in that condition . He offered me a free dinner on my 2nd night there - I had Haddock again which was much superior to the previous evening There was actually fish and not just batter in the dinner which I thanked him for but declined . I wasn’t complaining to get a free dinner. I wi

We really enjoyed staying at the Cabarfeidh hotel where we stayed for 3 nights. The staff is very polite and helpful, our room was spacious and modern, 3 breakfasts and 1 dinner were great and always presented w a smile. The location is excellent- the royal gardens are just across the street and the co- op is about a 5 min walk. It is an easy walk to downtown. We would definitely come back to this hotel and recommend it highly.

Top marks for Stornoway Cabarfeidh Hotel.
Great stay for music festival, situated 15 minute walk from festival site and from town centre. Great facilities with excellent breakfast and because I had a 5a.m. ferry check in on last morning I could check out & pay the afternoon before and a packed breakfast was ready for me in the early morning. Top marls all round.

Stornoway
On checking in I was advise that we had a twin room, I asked if this could be made into a double & was told that they had made the room up as requested, I advise that I had not requested a twin, too tied to stand my ground I accepted the room, asked about Dinner in the hotel restaurant & was advised that we could only get in after 8.45, so gave that up too, we decided to walk into town & go elsewhere.
When getting to our room it had been made up as a double!!. The room was extremely tired looking & needed to be decorated. The bed was comfortable & clean. The shower was not much more than a dribble. We had booked & paid for breakfast but as we were on the first ferry we were unable to have breakfast as breakfast started over an hour later then us leaving. To sum up, if/when I return to Stornoway I will not return to this hotel.
