An anonymous door down a narrow alleyway opens to lead you through a courtyard, then into the kind of entrance lobby you can only get in Venice - a pretty little set of chairs and sofas leading directly onto the canal, with water lapping just by your feet.
Up the stairs and there's a pretty dining room and lounge packed with art works, books and stuff, and breakfast here each morning is delightful.
The room was a splendid double-height room with quirky decoration, nicely cleaned and prepared, and a very comfortable bed.
Once you find it, it's really nicely placed between Maria Formosa and SS Giovanni e Paolo, both of which are great hang-outs, and it's an easy walk to San Marco, Rialto, and to the boat stop up by the hospital.
Very happy with our choice.
