First, I was surprised at the location...a small street and located on the 3rd floor of a building of apartments and businesses. There was a lift(elevator), thank goodness. Once up there, the graciousness and helpfulness of Ryanna warmed my heart. My room was very nice, although the view was of the building across the small street...there are some rooms with a view of the River Arno, I think only 7 rooms in total. Also, there were different levels in the room, coming in and to the bathroom, of which to be aware. Although this small hotel is off the main road.it is only a block and a half walk to the Arno River, where the Uffizi Gallery is on the other side, and a view of the Ponte Vecchio which is only about 3 blocks away. The Pitti Palace was about 5 or 6 blocks away, and it was an easy walk to the attractions on the other side of the Ponte Vecchio, like the Duomo and the wild Boar statue. This hotel is a perfect location in Firenze, just don't be surprised like I was when the taxi pulls up in front of the building that looks nothing like a hotel. I definitely recommend it and would stay there again.
Thank you, Ryanna, for all your kindness, help (she speaks English, too), and for recommending the TrattorioBordino, a great little restaurant about a block and a half away.
