Great stay!!

My husband and I had wonderful stay at Kula Maya, and we saw the most beautiful sunrise from our balcony. Sofia and Wendy, who were at the front desk, were really serviceminded both prior and during our stay.

Incredible stay
This is absolutely the best and most beautiful place to stay in San Marcos. The vibe is very different from the rest of the town, but personally I was grateful for that. It's a bit pricey of course, but if you're looking for a quiet and beautiful place to spend a day by the pool and enjoy delicious food, this is absolutely the place to go. The staff are lovely, And if you want to go out in San Marcos it's just steps away. Highly recommend! The only thing I feel compelled to add is that the restaurant next door plays music until 10:00 p.m. every night and it definitely feels like it's in your room lol. Made no difference to me because I can fall asleep anywhere, but definitely something to consider if that would be hard for you.

What a dream
Kula Maya is definitely the highlight of San Marcos, having the most excellent views and a friendly staff. The town is very charming and much more enjoyable than some of the busier towns on other parts of the lake. The restaurant has great food and a nice high-end bar selection. Prices are quite a bit higher than anything in the area, but the atmosphere makes it very worth it. The rooms could have been better-sealed to keep wind and bugs out, but I guess it can't be perfect in an eco-friendly resort in paradise. Definitely worth staying here, highly recommend.

True Paradise !
Kula Maya is my favorite oasis on the lake! The property is breathtaking, a peace of Heaven in nature. The team is so kind and professional, very accommodating. Sofia is the sweetest and so quick to help us plan transportation, laundry, reservations, etc. Our room was so unique and super comfortable, they thought of the smallest details to make our stay memorable. The food was phenomenal, and the hotel restaurant was the best from our entire trip in Guatemala :) Thank you, we will be back!

Gorgeous stay on Lake Atitlan
Our room the master suite was absolutely stunning. Particularly enjoyed the amazing balcony with stunning views and the very large bathroom with the rain shower and tub. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful, my friend got severe food poisoning when we were out in San Pedro (recommend eating in Santa Cruz and San Marcos - don't eat in the backpacker town San Pedro). Even though it was evening and all the clinics in San Marcos were closed, one of the hotel staff member called one of their family members who was a physcian in town to open the clinic so my friend could get IV antiemetics and IV fluids. He also arrange transport to escort us there. I cannot thank the hotel staff enough for their assistance with helping my ill friend!! Would definitely stay again!!

I love this beautiful hotel. The views are amazing here but the FOOD 100000/10. Omg the best food I ate in Guatemala. The staff was so friendly and so kind. I can’t wait to go back.

My friends and I loved our stay here! The staff, rooms, and dining were amazing. The pool and jacuzzi can use some TLC and refurbishing, but that’s about the only issue I saw. Great boutique hotel!

awesome boutique waterfront hotel with great restaurant, located right in unique san marcos and a very short walk from a beautiful nature preserve (swimming and cliff diving!), tons of eateries, laundrey services, yoga classes, massage parlors, activity providers (para gliding, atv trips, etc), etc. … HIGHLY recommend!
Ted, 4-night trip

8/10 Very good

Everything was great. It was a wonderful hotel. The only small issue I had there was a lot of landscaping and pool work being done right outside of my dome room, which was a very private area, but there was workers outside the dome a lot otherwise it was great.

Kula Maya resort is the perfect getaway in a gorgeous setting. The rooms were beyond my expectations, the linens all top quality, and the bed super comfy. The staff and food were amazing. The only drawback is that is located next to a popular restaurant that plays live music at night They do provide earplugs and it ends at 10pm, but it wouldn't keep me from coming back!

Breathtaking views of sunrise and sunset
We really enjoyed our three day stay at Kula Maya. The dome tent that we were in was so beautiful and faced the pool and the water perfectly to see both sunrise and sunset. The views were breathtaking, the room was comfy, and had everything we needed for yoga, relaxing by the pool, and eating delicious food. The staff was helpful and reserved a private guide who took us to Chichicastenango for a day trip. We enjoyed the Tofu Bhan Mi , The breakfast and some of the nice bowls that were on the menu. Staff was very attentive. We did hear some noise from the area however there are earplugs in the room and it did not bother us.
Our dome tent “Pureza”
Sunrise on Lake Atitlan
Private boat dock at Sunset
Enjoying the pool and Jacuzzi while looking out onto the lake
