My wife and I stayed for two nights on a road trip through southern Europe, and this has so far been our favorite accommodation. It is a beautiful 30 minute mountain/forest drive from any of the Cinque Terre villages, and located in a cute midieval village of its own. The building itself is about 400 years old (other parts of the village ~600), but has been updated with very nice and spacious rooms. The hosts are a very nice couple who went out of their way to make sure we knew our way around the area, and had all of the info we needed (maps, parking, restaurants, train/boat prices & timetables, etc) to make the most of our day in the Cinque Terre region. The breakfasts were amazing, including an assortment of delicious home-made cakes and pies (when in Rome...). They also pointed us towards some very good nearby restaurants, including one there in the village (Picolo Paradiso) and a pizzaria in neighboring Pignone (Il Castellaro).
We couldn’t recommend La Meridiana any more highly. We hope to be back some day!
