Good friendly stay worth a return trip.
The area was in a good location near a train stop. Plenty of shopping nearby. The people at the Aizuya Inn were very friendly and courteous and helped every way they could. The location was only a couple of stops from major shopping like Akihabara.

2/10 Poor

Uncomfortable sleep, tiny room
the room was really small ( only 2 bunk bed that fit in the room) no space to put our luggage. I cannot even walk in the room. You need to pay 100yen to take a shower for 5 mins. Wouldn't recommend to a couple.

Great value, very cheap for a single room, close to train station so easy to get around, quiet and safe area, definitely worth the money

Mispresented Hostel
1. the room was said to accomodate 2 fotons, but it didnt. only 1 fotons can fit.the remaining aisle after laying 1 foton is just 30cm. 2. dirty fotons. 3. broken japanese table. 4. didnt even have tissue inside the room. 5. noisy kid crying at night, when you supposed to be resting after a tiring day. 6. toilet for 2nd level where our room was dont have bidet, so we need to use the ground floor toilet everytime 7. worst is when I tried to be honest about my observation, the manager emailed me with insulting and outraging message. telling that i should be grateful with the free breakfast which i paid btw. and that I gave smile while im frustrated with the facitlities etc. and this makes me hypocrite. well in fact im just being respectful to the people around me. other travellers dont deserve to experience this kind of treatment and service. so im not recommending this Hostel. A big NO

Great place to stay for foreigners
The staff were really friendly, I enjoyed the decorations on the walls which were filled with Japanese style things as well as posters and game related things. The room itself has a television and DVD player and you are able to borrow game consoles if you wanted. The facilities are shared but more than enough, like 4 toilets per floor. There are three or four shower rooms in the whole building but that's more than most inns. It's 100 yen for 5 minutes in the shower but I find that more than enough. There are also laundry facilities too which is nice. I would actually say this is better than a regular hotel in terms of price and experience. Also I find that the free wifi in Japanese hotels tend to be weak but here it's great.

Had a nice stay. The area had a lot of combini and the place was only two stops away from Nippori station with a direct route to Narita airport and easy access elsewhere. The Inn had everything we needed and we could borrow bikes, international plugs and towels. The room was a bit drafty and the walls are thin. A lot of guests are used to other conditions and might complain about this, but the draft helped the air stay fresh and noise in the morning was a lot nicer to wake up to than an alarmclock. Though it was a bit cold the futons were really comfy and thick and the toilet seats were heated. We can easily recommend this place.

Good for budget travellers
The hotel is in very communicative place - close to subway and JR stations. There is a supermarket just across the street. Although there are no people in the area at night, it does not seem dangerous. There is a police office nearby. The hotel is at walking distance to Asakusa. The room includes minimal facilities - a small TV and AC, but the (double) futon was convenient. The WiFi worked well. There is no elevator and the stairs are very steep. It is not appropriate for people with more than a carry-on or a backpack. The owners provide breakfast - cornflakes and milk/juice. It was written on the hotel web site and in the room that rental phones are provided, but this turned on not to be correct. They provide a portable device for WiFi on the go. The shower is coin operated. You can get a towel for a small fee. There is a coin operated washing machine. A kitchen is available for the guests. You can get free tea all day long. Hotel staff is very helpful and speak English well. They are not available 24 hours a day, though.

It did the Job
I didn't really take much notice when I booked this hotel, so wa a little surprised to find our twin room having bunk beds, but hey we only slept in the place, didn't loitter, showers were great, and the overall decoration was lovely, little far out from town, but for the money perfect, one train line brought you all the way in, yep it was ok, and did the job fine.

Not suitable for solo traveler
The area is not very safe. Not suitable for solo traveler. Night time very quiet and dark. We witness a robber at our 2days nite there. A man rob a young lady's bag near the station. The inn is ok. Clean. Quality of servis appropiate. But room is very tiny.

You get what you pay for!
Great for backpackers just wanting to get their heads down after a day of sightseeing. Showers are really good, but you pay 100 yen. Toilets and rooms are clean, but the one long sink on each floor is ridiculously narrow, water goes everywhere. Breakfast is a waste of time unless you are into sugar coated cornflakes, and the common room has only limited space. Plus, while sitting on the floor at a low table might be part of the Japanese experience, it isn't exactly comfortable for most westerners, so some conventional seating would have been appreciated. The train station is close enough, and it wasn't too far to walk to some of the sights - Asakusa, even the Skytree and Edo-Tokyo Museum.
