Lovely little courtyard hotel in very convenient location to explore Beijing. The Metro was very accessible to get everywhere in the city. Xisi road had great little spots to eat and try some of the delicious Beijing street food options.

北京最差的小院
房间很小,家具又太多,整个就很拥挤,家具摆设挡住了排插的位置,根本充不了电! 房间什么景都没有!出了院子还要走一段路才能到马路边,重点是车还不好叫!!

A Modernly Decorated Courtyard-style Hotel
I am happy that I have booked this hotel. This is a Modernly Decorated Courtyard-style Hotel. 5~7 mins walking distance to the subway(metro) station and quite a lots of restaurants around the area. Everyday towel and water refill (bed sheet per request). Free wifi access, tested over 50mbps~100mbps with cell phone (compared with other hotel that less than 10mbps, it's fast!!) Friendly front desk, nigh security gard and all staff are willing to help. There is a bar in the hotel but not open to public (according to the front desk, the bar is only for owner's private party due to the business license). Hoping the bar will get the license on my next vist to to Beijing. However, I will stay again when next time I travel Beijing.

Quite far from the nearest metro station, like 15 mins walk. Do remember the exit of ping an Li metro station, as a station has many exits leading to different routes! The hotel did not mention which exit and we ended up getting lost before finally figuring out the correct exit. The hotel staff can’t speak English well except the lady who was so helpful. But honestly if you work in a hotel u need to have a basic command of English language. And the cleanliness of the room - the staff doesn’t clean the cups daily! Goodness... I doubt the bedsheets and linen are changed too, they were only made up. At least the towels are replensished cleanly.

A really nice hotel with old Beijing nostalgia and the rooms surround a pretty courtyard. Room was small but cozy, really nice bathroom except that the toilet bowl clogs easily with just a little toilet paper flushed down. Make sure to check the breakfast time the night before to ensure that you don’t miss breakfast as they don’t stick to the timing indicated on the breakfast voucher causing me to miss my breakfast once because they ended it earlier without notice.

Comfortable and cosy room. However, the breakfast times are not reliable as it is different from what is indicated in the breakfast coupon and the times changes day by day. I had a breakfast coupon that states the ending time of 10am but as I called to order my breakfast at 9.40am, they mentioned that breakfast is closed. That was pretty disappointing and there was nothing done to compensate or apologise.

The room was really clean and comfortable, especially love the powerful rainshower in the bathroom, the service standard was good. The hotel is located conveniently near two metro lines, the hotel courtyard exudes an old Beijing charm. The only cons are the size of the room are a tad small and the toilet is easily clogged by toilet paper so it is impossible to flush any toilet paper down.

Nice old chinese style in typical chinese area
I did like the place, but due to some leval limitations the hotel can not advertice the location more clearly, this could be overcome by making it more precise the distance from the Xisi subway station

Bait and switch
I am utterly disappointed for a well established company as Orbitz to carry a hotel information that will market a room that has no windows. or at least would clearly tell the customer that a room has not window. What made it worst is, when I checked in, then, the front desk will tell you the room selected has no windows and it will be an additional fee for selecting up graded rooms. So, I was forced not to stay in this Hotel. Then, they told me that late cancellation fee will apply and then deducted two full days of room rates as punishment .This is like adding salt to the wound. Why the no window rooms were not mentioned on the Hotel information in the first place. My strong feeling is that the deception was pre-planned without letting any to know about it. I have a huge loss but let to be a lesson that other people is not trapped into this kind bait and switch. Thank you for nothing. Very disappointed customer

Good budget option.
This hotel's target market is domestic Chinese guests. As such, the level of amenities expected is different than what we expect in the U.S. Additionally, the hotel is not in a tourist-centric area, so you get a more authentic China experience, but you also spend time walking through a neighborhood that appears to be dedicated to shops selling materials for commercial ventilation. Finally, the physical plant of the hotel has seen better days, though some of that is the fact that the hotel has been made out of buildings from an older part of Beijing - it is in a hutong. We enjoyed our stay. The amenities were basic, but well done. We did not go to China to spend time in our hotel room, but when we did, we were comfortable. We went in April. I am not sure if it would be as comfortable in the summer heat. We purchased a small fan on our first day in China so that we could moving air for sleeping, which worked well for us. The staff did not speak much English, but were very pleasant and very helpful, going out of their way for us several times during our stay there. Close to the Ping Anli subway stop. The courtyard was a pleasant change from the bustle of Beijing.

not worth the money
Honestly, I was overall satisfied with this hotel. (By the way, it's now called "Super 8" not "Lotus") Room service came by everyday to clean the room and the hutong style of the hotel was quite quaint and a unique experience. However, I would label this as something between a hostel and hotel. Definitely not up to hotel standards. My room was spacious and the air conditioner was very efficient, but if I didn't get the discount I did on the room I wouldn't have stayed there. The bathroom was just a sectioned off part of the room with no door. The room smelled ok for the most part, but sometimes the shower or toilet let off a stink that permeated the whole room. All around the bottom of the wall was a black stain which was a bit disconcerting. Overall, it's ok, just not worth the price.
