CENTRAL AND QUIET
This was a one night stopover. The location is very good, central but still quiet, the pool nice. The rooms are pretty sparce but have a safe and a/c. The manager was very obliging and polite. Lovely man.

This was my fourth stay at the Paraiso and I hope to stay again. I have visited Isla for 33 years and stayed at many hotels. Paraiso is one of the best values on Isla. All of my previous stays were in room 5, which I enjoyed. Because of my difficulty in climbing the stairs my next visit will have to be in rooms 1, 2, or 3. Many thanks for all the assistance I received.

Too many ants
Hotel is located very close to the ferry port. Bedding was clean and comfortable, good working a/c what I can say good. Room was infested by ants- they were everywhere. Cracked tiles in the bathroom that was crying for serious maintenance. Fridge too far away from fitting outlet to have it turned on. Shabby and wobbly furniture. No chairs in the balcony.

Over booked...
We got there and they didn't have all 3 rooms I had reserved. The first night 4 ladies had to stay in one ginormous room with 3 beds and a poor air conditioner. All was corrected the 2nd night as they were able to provide an upgrade with a beach front view. They have an open air kitchen that guests are able to use pool side. Which btw we weren't able to use as it had rained and they didn't clean or prep for guest use, so that was Out Of Service. Other then that the house keepers keep everything super clean and fresh and comfortable for the money you pay.

Convenient location, adequate but mediocre
We reserved a room with 2 single beds for a week, with a frig, coffee pot, micro wave. Arrived and room had only a double bed and frig. No micro wave or coffee pot. No wash cloths in bath. After discussion/complaining at front desk, owner brought in 2nd bed, micro wave, coffee pot and wash cloths. At first disappointed, but pleased with his responsiveness. Hotel has that "old Mexico" charm, is colorful and has great potential to be a really fine little hotel. Overall, needs some work on the building and courtyard. Examples: Missing tiles in courtyard, junk stored in open sight behind each room's patio doors, broken electrical fixture in our bathroom. Not mentioned in the add, was that our room had a safe and there was a community kitchen in the courtyard. Both desirable amenities. Also very clean, crisp, white linens and never saw a bug in the place. With a little maintenance and TLC, this place could be great, not just mediocre. $91 US dollars a night was a little overpriced, considering the condition.

Can we have our money back?
We were very dissapointed with this hotel. The location was great but everything else about this place was awful - the room was very bare bones and was more like a hostel with sticky floors, poorly working shower, no blankets and only 1pillow to share (for two people?!), and the continental breakfast was nothing more than juice and white bread (no coffe or tea).

Close to ferry, courtyard style.
We chose this hotel as it has reasonable wifi and easy access to Isla's main streets. However having booked for 3 nights, we only stayed 1. The room was so noisy, heard other people's voices late into the night. The door lock was not at secure, the safe didn't work and the pool way too cold for anyone to swim in! Room layout very odd too, with all the furniture down one end. Very basic, not user friendly at all.

Charming hotel in convenient location
If you are looking for an economy hotel that is conveniently located to the ferry, I would recommend Hotel Paraiso. The staff was very cordial. The room was large, clean, and had a beautiful view of the bay. This was my first time in Isla Mujeres and -- traveling alone -- I was not sure what to expect. Marina, at the front desk, and the rest of the staff were very friendly and assisted anytime I had a question or particular need. This hotel had a rustic charm, and is perfect for a traveler on a budget who is seeking a clean and quiet room. Location is in easy walking distance to city center and also the beautiful North Beach.

Great Value - Great Location - Great Staff = A
Small intimate hotel located close to ferry, restaurants and beach. Better than expected, our large room had everything we needed, and was clean and comfortable with a large balcony.

Muy Bien!
We really enjoyed our stay! Marina at the front desk was very helpfull and gave good tips on where to snorkel and get a rental scooter. This hotel is walking distance to the little town and playas on the north end of the island. We liked the beaches here on isla mujeres the best so far on our trip to Quintana Roo. The room itself was spacious, had AC, fridge, balcony and a newly remodeled bedroom. We had the pleasent surprise of being upgraded to a deluxe room since they were out of standard rooms. The room was clean and well kept. The breakfast wasn't the best and not very organIzed but I can't really complain since it was free. This hotel kind of had a hostel feel to it in the pool area since there was a large group of students staying and using the common kitchen areA but I enjoyed that since it gave us some people to talk to. Also, you can use the common kitchen to prepare your own meals if you prefer that over the restaurant in town. Would stay here again and I recommend this hotel!

Quiet Jewel
The access to restaurants and bars was only a short walk. Made getting meals easy. Variety of restaurants was nice, including a good Italian restaurant nearby. Lots of interesting shops with lots of interesting stuff, was cool (when no rain allowed exploring). Because of 3 straight days of rain (told this was unusual), I spent a lot of my time in the room. The Internet WiFi was a great help in passing the time. The cable channels are dominated by Spanish speaking programs, but I did find some programs on a few channels being broadcast in English with Spanish sub-titles. Yea! (I don't speak/understand much Spanish). The room had some minor problems which were addressed in an expeditious manner, as quickly as was possible. The day manager was extremely helpful, and all the staff members were friendly and courteous. Breakfast was good and filling, and a bit adventurous as they were tuning the menu. Coffee (my life's blood), and drinking water was always available in the lobby. A tall stool and table made of branches and rough planking (Old Mexican style?) was uncomfortable, and for me was not really useable. Used desk for computer stuff instead. That worked fine.

Prezzo esagerato in generale.
