Couldn't Access Our Room - No Reception
The location was beautiful, just steps from the beach, with a relaxed and safe atmosphere. Most guests were elderly, wintering in Florida, and everyone we met was friendly and welcoming.
Unfortunately, our check-in experience was extremely stressful. We arrived at 8 PM to find the reception closed (hours are 9 AM–5 PM weekdays and Saturday mornings). Check-in details had been emailed only 12 hours earlier, but the email went to my spam folder while we were flying. Without completing the required documents, we had no access to our room.
After 24 hours of travel, we arrived exhausted at 9 PM without internet access, and the hotel's Wi-Fi was inaccessible until check-in was completed—a frustrating catch-22. The after-hours number posted outside played a recorded message saying the office was closed. Thankfully, a kind guest helped us figure out how to get our keys. Otherwise, we might have left.
Once inside, the room was freezing—set to 60°F with no way to turn off the AC. The bed had only a thin blanket and sheet. An alternate after-hours number eventually brought an extra blanket, but we still slept in clothes with towels and coats for warmth.
This was a shame because the location had great potential. Poor communication and lack of after-hours support ruined the stay. If you plan to stay here, check your spam folder and complete all paperwork ahead of time. While the location and facilities are worth four stars, I’m giving one star to warn others about these issues.
